assalamu alaykum
al Qadi 'Iyad said in his book:
Mashariq al Anwar
وقوله (يضع السماوات على اصبع) الحديث قيل الإصبع صفة سمعية لله تعالى لا يقال فيها أكثر من ذلك كاليد وهذا مذهب الأشعري وبعض أصحابه
His saying (He puts the heavens on a finger) the hadith, it is said: the finger is a sam'i attribute of Allah azza wa jal, nothing is to be said about it except that, same as the hand, this is the madhhab of al Ash'ari and some of his companions\followers.
----------------------
1. Does "ashabeh" (أصحابه) mean companions or followers?
2. Do Ash'aris say that "al isba' إصبع" is an attribute but we make tafwid al ma'na of it?
or they don't consider it an attribute to begin with? since it is from hadith - khabar ahad.
