Correcting The Misunderstanding Of Shaikh Abdullah Ali (h) From Zaytuna Institute And Lamppost Productions: Introducing The Sound Traditional Opinion On Those Who Curse The Sahaba

http://altranslators.com/bg/?p=53

So it is okay and praiseworthy to curse Sahaba in the Ash'ari creed ?
and who is promoting this Zaytuna of Mr. Hamza Yusuf Hanson ( always had a feeling of the dodgy character of Hanson & Co. )

the guy actually says the habashis are closer to ahlus sunnah than the salafis!!

shocking!

But Habashis are more in line with our tradition and a more acceptable option than Salafis for anyone who is seeking a traditional understanding of Islam when the only option they have is to choose between one of these two groups.

That about sums it up. The Ashari adherents see the Ahbash cult as kindred spirits due to their mutual loathing of Shaykh al-Islam ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullah) and al-Imam ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullah).

what about all the stuff they said in the pledge? you know, the unity between salafis and asharis. this is disgusting, so who are the habashis in the pledge since they're closer to the sunnah?

what does suhaib webb think of all this, i thought he was supposed to be a bit more balanced? isn't translators under his supervision?

not a surprise
several sufis in sunni forum, including faqir, believe that Salafis are more deviant than Rafidah.

figures, since their religion (extreme sufis such as Brelwis and Habashis) is more closer to Rafidah than that of the Salaf.

does anyone have sources where the hababshi's speak ill of any of the sahaba? I know that they refer to Muawiyya (RA) as a rebel. But I understand that they do not curse or make takfir of any sahaba like the shia do. Is this correct?

Question: I would like to know more about a group called Al-Ahbâsh.

Answered by Sheikh Nâsir al-`Aql

Al-Ahbâsh is a deviant group attributed to `Abd Allah al-Habâshî. It was first founded in Lebanon. Their belief is based on derogating some of the Companions, insulting other prominent successors, some misinterpretation of Allah’s attributes. They practice certain innovations drawn from Sufism and ascribe to certain deviant beliefs of other groups like al-Murji’ah, al-Jabriyyah and al-Takfîriyyah.

They are always fighting the Sunnah and derogating it. They have adapted some odd fatwâs. For instance, they changed the Qiblah of Muslims in the United States to the direction of Southeast, capitalizing on the confusion generated by looking at a standard flat map of the Earth. They are known to do these kinds of things for argument’s sake and as a means of aggression against others Muslims, particularly Ahl al-Sunnah.

Even G F Haddad says otherwise...Question: Is it permissible to take knowledge from the group named the Ahbash, (AICP, Ahbash, Habashis, ...)? They state that they follow the Ashari Aqeedah, and the Madhhab of Imam Ash-Shafi'i (RA). That is if pray in the proper direction of the Qibla for us?

Answer: No, it is not permissible to take knowledge from this pseudo-Sunni group. The Ulema of Syria consider their founder `Abd Allah al-Harari a deviant who misguides others (dall mudill). Among those deviancies, he has authored a book in which he attacks some of the Sahaba, Allah be well-pleased with all of them, and he and his group have made takfir and tadlil of many of the Ulema and Awliya of the past and present.

Gibril Haddad

Faraz Rabbani writes: I agree completely. They are a group that spreads fitna and division wherever they are.Source: SunniPath (http://qa.sunnipath.com/issue_view.asp?id=12879&hd=7&cate=0&t=rss)

no one is a proper muslim who isnt part of the habash group. I think they've pretty much made takfir on every scholar and person who isnt from their camp. thats 99.999999999999% of the ummah then.

If the question was directed towards me, then yes I have. Numerous times. Was pretty sickening. They attack everyone and anyone.

theres quite alot of them in some areas of the u.k, in yorkshire in a small town called halifax they have influenced quite a few brelavis, some of the brelavis have now become habashi, they seem to hate shaykh al-islam ibn taymiyyah and all salafis, they tend to get on with the sufis....

Well, guess what? Last I heard, Suhaib Webb had pulled out of the pledge...

Imagine, bro Suhaib Webb out of all people pulls out of it, yet some brothers - as usual the post 9/11 Salafis - are the only ones to set up a whole website dedicated to the pledge.

What do you expect from a guy that goes around the likes of al-Bouti, a notorious Ashari bigot.

Anyways, have any of the "salafi" signatures shown their pledge to scholars like Sh. Safar and seen what they had to say?
