AsSalaamu Alaykum,

Right - so I've been asked to do a presentation about 'Healthy Eating'...for young children - which is pretty simple. The difficulty arises when the presentation has to have an ISLAMIC spin to it.

What do I do??

Any ideas/suggestions??

Also this presentation is pretty important.

JZK for any input - it will be much appreciated.

Wa 'alaikumus-salaam wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh,

First thing that comes to mind - 1/3 of stomach for food, drink, and air (respectively).
Eat in moderation... don't be greedy... etc.

BTW, do you want details on WHAT to eat, or more like basic eating manners?

Ahhhh, okay... erm... in that case, I have no idea! Just what my mom's always done with me and my bros - trained us to eat (and enjoy!) fruits and veggies from when we were really little... even now, we prefer grabbing an apple/ orange/ banana/ whatever for a snack over a cupcake or something.

You could perhaps talk about junk food and how it is seriously impairing peoples health, as well as childhood obesity etc....

Remember our bodies (and good health) is an Amanah (trust) that Allah will ask us about...

Yeah bro, Insha'allah will DEFINITELY be talking about McDonaldization and fatty foods resulting in obese kids.

JZK.
