Assalaamulekum bro, just some questions if that's ok, on minhaj.
1. MANY state that the reason why the salafi dawah is wrong is because it is not a political form of dawah, salafi my root seems to be just an aqeeda reformation movement and nothing more.
2.To back my above point it doesn’t seem that the salafees are doing anything political, this is again because there methodology is not based upon politics, ruler ship etc. Therefore are the attempts by some salafees almost an embarrassment, because it seems that the salafees are willing to be flees on dogs, I.e. they are content with letting HT take the lead and just jumping on their back in the name of co operation, that is in the UK. Are salafis across the world like that?
Another proof is Jimas and their unforgivable invitation to tariq ramadhan, it showed how useless salafees are, Jimas has lost all aim and purpose, it has become a shadow of its former self.
Is this a fair comment?
3. Another proof why salafi ‘ism is not political is that if you look at the scholars whom discussed in public the concept of Khilafah, they were not salafi, e.g hassan al banna, mawdudi , qutb ( though he wasn’t a scholar and made mistakes) . You won’t find Sh bin baaz et al talking about these things.
So whats the reply?
4. When some scholars talk about obeying rulers, they often bring hadeeth about obeying the imams, are they right in doing so in terms of saying that they are legitimate amirs in terms of caliph of a khilafah? How does this fit in with the hadeeth about saying we will go from khilafah, to monarchy, to oppression, to khilafah again. Or do these scholars mean in the capacity of a khilafah. I ask because some like HT make out that these Ulema are simple minded in doing so because the hadeeth talks about Imams not prime ministers.
I don't have opinions on these issues as its not important for the muqalid too, but I just want to know in context of HT and their claims.
5. Should the title of salafi 'ism be scrapped, after all it causes more divide then anything. Salafi title originally was designed to distinguish yourself from the ashare and sufi etc, but now theres so many salafi groups that you it doesn't distinguish but confuse. So what should happen?
Shouldn't we just say that we are ahl sunnah wal jammah and that's it? After all, this title belongs to us, not muatizilah HT or sufi or asharee
