Salam,

I am sure I read a reference in the Qur'an upholding the Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH). I am sure it said something about the Messengher being a perfect example, or to use his guidance. It was worded in a way that said, look, the Qur'an is guidance, follow it the example of the Messanger. Can anyone supply Qur'anic this reference or references supporting the following of the Sunnah in the Qur'an?

Also, I am sure I once read in the Qur'an (I think it was the Qur'an and not the Sunnah) about something like this: If you hurt even a bird, that bird will be as a witness on the Day of Ressurection and will inform about what you did to it.

It annoys when I read something and then cannot find it later.

Shukran in advance.

Regarding the second part it is something like this:

"A Muslim is responsible for the care of animals so much so that an ill-treated animal will testify against the one who abused it on the Day of Judgment." or "If an animal is killed needlessly then that animal will testify against them on Judgement Day." or "When the Day of Resurrection comes, everyone whom he wronged, whether human or animal, will stand before him and will ask his Lord to settle the score between them. " Where is the referance?

وَمَا آتَاكُمُ الرَّسُولُ فَخُذُوهُ وَمَا نَهَاكُمْ عَنْهُ فَانتَهُوا
"And whatsoever the Messenger gives you, take it, and whatsoever he forbids you, abstain from it..." [al-Hashr: 7]

"And let those who oppose the Messenger's commandment beware, lest some Fitnah befall them or a painful torment be inflicted on them." [al-Nur: 63]

"Indeed in the Messenger of Allah you have a good example to follow for him who hopes in (the Meeting with) Allah and the Last Day and remembers Allah much." [al-Ahzaab: 21]

And other verses speaking of obeying the Messenger (sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam)

Also, I am sure I once read in the Qur'an (I think it was the Qur'an and not the Sunnah) about something like this: If you hurt even a bird, that bird will be as a witness on the Day of Ressurection and will inform about what you did to it.

Shukran in advance. Are you sure it was in the Qur'aan? It sounds more like a hadeeth, wallaahu a'lam.

That person killed me in vain. He did not kill me for needful sustenance.”

Shukran, Shukran, now I have found the below thanks to you!

" If someone kills a sparrow for sport, the sparrow will cry out on the Day of Judgment, "O Lord! That person killed me in vain! He did not kill me for any useful purpose." (Nisai)

The Prophet said : If someone kills a sparrow for sport, the
sparrow will cry out on the Day of Judgment "O Lord ! That
person killed me in vain ! He did not kill me for any useful
purpose." - Reported by Nasaa'ee (210/2), Ibn Hibban (moorad - 1071), Ahmad (389/4), Ghayatul Maram No.@@@.

He said : Whoever kills a sparrow or anything bigger than that
without just cause, Allaah will hold him accountable on the Day
of Judgement. The listeners asked, O Messenger of Allaah ; what
is a just cause ? He replied, that he killed it to eat, not
simply chop of its head and then throw it away. - Reported by Nasaa'ee, Hakim, Ghayatul Maram No.@@@.

The Prophet said, "Whoever kills a sparrow or anything bigger than that without a just cause, Allah will hold him accountable on the Day of Judgment." The listeners asked, "O Messenger of Allah, what is a just cause?" He replied, "That he will kill it to eat, not simply to chop off its head and then throw it away." - (Nisai, Hakim).

Sheikh Abdul-Aziz ibn Myatt mentions this also (http://www.davidmyatt.info/reply-osama-letter1.html):

Sheikh Salman b. Fahd al-Oadah wrote, quoting a Hadith: "Whoever as much as kills a sparrow in vain will find it crying before Allah on the Day of Judgment: My Lord! That person killed me in vain. He did not kill me for needful sustenance..."

In respect of this Hadith, it was reported that Abdullah Ibn Amr narrated that the Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم said:

"When someone kills [even] a sparrow, without just cause, Allah will ask him about it on the Day of Judgement." Then someone asked: "Prophet of Allah! What is a just cause?" and he replied: "To slaughter it for food..." (Narrated by Al-Nasa'i, 7/ 207)
