Reflections on Surah Ar Ra'ad
I have always loved the sound of thunder.
When we were little, my cousins and I would crowd around the window from the indoor safety of my Grandma's living-room before a storm. We would stare up in amazement at the hazy grey sky after a flash of lightening pierced the sky and count the time between the lightening and the sound of the thunder to guess how far away it had struck:
"One-pink-elephant...Two-pink-elephants...Three-pink-elephants..."
[A mighty clap of thunder would vibrate the window]...........

praise be to Allah swt who sent down islam and lifted us out of ignorance.
