Assalamu alaykum,

Many are outraged over the danish cartoons and object to their government allowing it, although they are not Muslim and do not share our beliefs, and many agree and justify the bombings, etc etc etc. Fine. I won't argue with that nor go into it. Yet, according to this same principle, that their (non-Muslim) is directly responsible and should not allow it, we as Muslims have a bigger obligation to disallow and prevent people from insulting our religion.

So, in these lines, I suggest that the forum becomes stricter in its' rules by preventing and stopping people from posting threads offensive to our deen, such as many of those that "Abdul Hussain" has posted today. In my opinion it is our responsibility as Muslims.

Wa Alaykum As Salam

I second that.

We need stricter moderation on this forum.

We already have this moderation in place. When someone writes a blasphemous post, instead of ban him instantly, we do two things:

1) Edit his post and reword the title or the content to take the blasphemy out, while leaving the question as it is so it is answered.

2) Notify the poster that blasphemies would not be tolerated, and if he continuous to have disregard for the rules, the mods don't have enough time to keep track of everyone single thing he posts, and the mods will subsequently ban him.

If the person makes blasphemous remarks after being warn, he only digs his own grave and gets banned.

The purpose of the forums is to discuss, and to ban people for slips here and there defeats the purpose of having a discussion forum to begin with. This doesn't mean we tolerate blasphemy, as explained above.

Brother Abu Zubair,

I am not asking you to ban people for "slips" here and there. The posts made by "Abdul Hussain" were blasphemous from the minute he started posting numerous threads, and every single post was LOADED with blasphemy.

I understand that this is a discussion forum, but also look at the outcome, harm/versus benefit. Brothers, although I understand their anger, behave out of line in retaliation as well, and this is not how we should be as Muslims, what example are we setting for others?

To many things are allowed on the forum to be honest that shouldn't be. Discussion is one thing, freedom of expression is another.

This is just my opinion, not that it means anything, so no offence.

It takes time to moderate... so when they spot filth they delete it accordingly. We can all help by reporting i suppose

Why is it that everytime some filthy troll comes here everyone starts entertaining them?

How many threads have I seen that I wish would just sink to the bottom and disappear, instead its our own brothers and sisters that keep bringing them back up.

These trolls crave attention and when they come here they get high big time.

Please Ikhwan dont feed them they will get bored and leave.

Trolls have to be answered , we deal with these kinds of people on a daily basis
As for Abdul Hussain, just five minutes ago I was showing my friend who's son is hanging out with a couple of shias , and now she can show him their beliefs because they are telling him its a lie that they curse the sahabah (ra) , also it was an eye opener to me that they actually use (la) and that they curse
khalid bin waleed as well.
The shia are becoming more vocal , you better all know how to answer them , for your own sakes and for your families sakes.

Also we are not robots , we have to sleep and spend time away from the pc ,so sometimes there wont be a mod online . Reporting a post is the best and quickest way to bring it to the mods attention.

Masha'Allah I agree with the sister, I think reporting such threads is probably our best option. And at the same time, we have to remember that the mods are only human-so we should be little patient and wait for them to address the issue in their own time.
