assalamu alaykum,

i got fath al-majeed today (in arabic) but it's quite long (700+ pages!). are there any good, concise shurooh of kitaab at-tawheed or on the subject at-tawheed? also are there any good lectures in particular by the senior ulamaa (past/present)?

dear ukhti alhamdullilah you obtained a copy of fath al majeed. it is beautiful masha'allah. a suggestion that i can offer is to also make an effort to obtain al qwl as sadeed fi bayaan haqeeqat ut tawheed. a much smaller kitaab and available in arabic.

Taysir al-Aziz al-Hamid is the best of them all. It was one of the major sources for Fath al-Majid. It is incomplete however as Sh. Sulayman b. Abdullah - the cousin of Abdur-Rahman b. Hasan, author of Fath al-Majid - was martyred by the Turks. Get the Maktab al-Islami print as they have included the text from Fath al-Majid for the commentary on the chapters at the end that are missing from Taysir.

For a good short commentary, Salih Al al-Shaykh has an excellent commentary, translated into English by Dar-us-Salam.

Also the noble Shaykh Naasir as Sa'dee did a good simple explanation of Kitaab at-Tawheed which you can purchase at various bookshops.

Assalaam alaikum warahmatullah wabarakatuhu

Tayseer al Azeez al Hameed is an excellent sharh of Kitaab at Tawheed just like the brother mentioned above. Try to memorize alot of the masaail and fwaaid you can take from it. One of the best explanations on the book is probably done by al Ghunaymaan you may well find it on islamway. The one done by Daar ibn Hazm was a good copy but im sure there are better copies out there. Allaah knows best.
