asSalamu `alaykum

I'm very sorry for insulting sr. Umm, and for hurting anyone else who got involved.

I overreact (a lot), and I lose my temper very easily.

I'm sorry.

Add to this, here is the most favourite sweet of sufis from Indo-Pak region:-

I think the appropriate word for mango lassi is milkshake. Lassi is something else, which is made of Yoghurt and milk and normally consumed in the rural belt of Indo-pak region. Here is the pic of lassi

Asalamualaykum,

Mango Lassi is easy to make its just like making mango milshake but instead of milk you use Youghurt.

Mango's are in season now and the shops are full of nice Pakistani mango's just peel one and put the flesh into a blender and add some youghurt.

I'm still searching through my recipe books and loose pages, but for now, I'll post the method of making rasmalai, with the ingredients later.

The white balls are made by boiling milk and adding a pinch of citric acid, or a few drops of lemon juice. This forms curds and the milk will go watery. These curds have to be scooped up and put in a bowl. Any excess water is squeezed out and the curds are rolled into balls. The milk in the pan is chucked.

Once again, you boil a pan of milk but with sugar and saffron. Add the balls to the milk once it has boiled and cook for a bit. When cool you can add chopped almonds and pistaccio nuts.

Delicious as it maybe, I don't think asian sweet is all too healthy.

Rememeber moderation at all time. Don't go on a Rasmalai frenzy.

My advice. Smile.

so the whole recipe is only milk, citric acid/lemon juice, sugar and saffron?

wow I thaught it was lot more than that.

and can we use low fat milk?
and what about powdered milk?

assalamu'alaykum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh

is the for the milk to make the balls, or the milk which you put the balls in at the end ?
or for both?

it's for the milk which u put the balls in at the end : )
reducing the milk is optional though. It adds taste to the rasmalai.U can even add one or 2tbsp milkmaid to the milk(in which u put the balls) and lessen the amt of sugar ....
have it chilled mashallah yummy

Biggest chefs in world are men.
and so non members could benefit from it too.

Something more general to include everything a housewife may need.

if you mean anything she needs in relation to the kitchen then we can call it "the kitchen"

or anything related to the house, maybe we could call it "the house" :D

couldn't think of any other title.

I wish I could cook... But to be honest, if there is nothing to eat at home and wife's away, I just cannot be bothered to cook (except frying some burgers sitting in the freezer, etc)

I would rather pop out and get something to eat, instead. Time saver!

Um Abdullah M.
16th June 2008, 10:19 AM
that is too long of a title
how about "The home" or something like that
then in the description below it : cooking, gardening, cleaning, sewing ...etc. anything relate to the home.

what do you think?

Hamza
16th June 2008, 10:22 AM
A therapeutic effect is one of the good things that result from cooking. But yes Kebabish is a time saver lol. These days cant really spare the time personally but brothers should atleast have a go at lunch. Healthy lunch i.e. fruit/smoothie, some pasta or salad etc.

Im off fast food cos its amazing as you get older you cant just eat anything. Cant shrug it off as teenagers we could.

If people find out you can cook then they will make you cook all the time, especially if you're a good cook. I'd keep it a secret if I were you. Actually, you should pretend to suck.. that way your wife will feel sorry for you and she will never ask you to cook. Being a good cook is like having super-powers.. you don't see spiderman, superman or any of those guys flaunting their special powers do you??!

lol
