To the truly active scholars, the inheritors of prophets

To the faithful seekers of true religious knowledge

To the sincere individuals working for the establishment of this Deen

To those who fight in the cause of Allah throughout the land

To all Muslims- we say what Allah the Most High and Supreme in Glory says:

"Has not the time yet come for those who believe (in the oneness of Allah) that their hearts should be humble for the remembrance of Allah and what has come down (this Quran) of the truth? And that they should not be like those who were given the Book before, but the time became prolonged to them, so their hearts hardened, and most of them are transgressors." Surah 57, Ayah 16

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds, the Supporter of the oppressed. The One Who ordained the Muslim's to unite. Peace be upon the Master of the Apostles, the leader of the mujahideen, the example of the Muslimeen and the intercessor on the day of judgement, his family and companions.

Allah(swt) says in the Qu'ran:

"And hold fast, all of you together, to the Rope of Allah, and be not divided among yourselves, and remember Allah's Favour on you, for you were enemies, one to another, but He joined your hearts together, so by His Grace, you became brethren (in Islamic faith) and you were on the brink of a pit of Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus Allah makes His Ayat clear to you, that you may be guided." (Surah 3, Ayah 103)

And Allah(swt) also says:

"You (True believers in Islamic monotheism and real followers of the prophet Muhammad (sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam) and his Sunnah) are the best of peoples ever raised up for mankind, enjoining what is right, forbidding what is wrong, and believing in Allah." (Surah 3, Ayah 110)

And:

"And be not as those who divided and differed among themselves after the Bayyinaat (clear proofs) had come to them. It is they for whom there is a an awful torment." (Surah 3, Ayah 105)

Also:

"And obey Allah and his Messenger, and do not dispute (with one another) lest you lose courage and your strength departs, and be patient." (Surah 8, Ayah 46)

And:

"Truly this, your Ummah is one Ummah and I am your Lord, therefore worship me (Alone)." (Surah 21, Ayah 92)

This is a cry from wounded hearts and dejected souls about the actual degenerated state of the Muslim Ummah. This Ummah, which was famous for its deeply rooted faith and glorious and exalted history centuries ago, had indeed raised the flags of Islam, fought every arrogant and stubborn oppressor and destroyed every rebellious tyrant. It had established the foundations of a particularly just society by implementing the laws of the Quran and Sunnah that are the only constitution for all mankind. This Ummah, then deserved the honour to lead humanity.

When Muslims retreated from this comprehensive outlook of life which Islam represents, some distorted shapes and modes of Islam became manifest. Hence, conflicts and disunity amongst the Muslims started to creep in and the Muslim Ummah became weak and unaffected by the afflictions, which started to strike the Muslims incessantly.

The main cause of this deplorable situation is the lack of those pious scholars, the inheritors of the Prophets, whom Allah has chosen to be witnesses with him along with his angels. Allah(swt) says:

"Allah bears witness that La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He) and the angels, and those having knowledge (also give this witness). (He always maintains) his creation in justice. La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but he) the All Mighty, the All Wise." (Surah 3, Ayah 18)

These scholars were chosen by Allah because of the importance of their status and the greatness of their responsibility. They are not equal to others in either reward or punishment. Almighty Allah says:

"Say Are those who know equal to those who know not? It is only men of understanding who will remember (i.e. Get a lesson from Allah's signs and verses)." (Surah 39, Ayah 9)

They are the possessors of power- the power of evidence, knowledge, mercy and wisdom and they are the holders of light that distinguishes the truth from falsehood and eradicates the darkness of ignorance. Allah(swt) the Almighty says:

"Is he who was dead (without faith by ignorance and disbelief) then We gave him life (by knowledge and faith) and set for him a light (of belief) by which he walks among the people- like him who is in darkness (of disbelief, polytheism and hypocrisy) from which he can never come out?..." (Surah 6, Ayah 122)

These scholars are also rewarded if they are sincere and if their main intention is to follow the truth as our Prophet (sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said: "If a ruler/judge strives while giving a verdict and he is right, he is rewarded twice and if he makes a mistake he is rewarded once." [Reported by Bukhari]

They are fortunate and blessed as Muath ibn Jabal (radhiAllahu anhu) described them when he was talking about knowledge. He said: "knowledge is the means by which kinships are joined and truth is distinguished from falsehood. It is a leader followed by implementation, the fortunate ones are inspired by it, and the misfortunate ones are deprived from it."

If these scholars had rightfully paid the zakat (alms) of their knowledge, performed their duty and undertook the flag they have inherited from our Prophet (sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam) , the situation of the Muslim Ummah would have been different from what we hear and see nowadays.

Nations do actually survive by their beliefs, systems, heritage and culture and they die accordingly due to their negligence and their preoccupation with earthly desires. And in as much as good principles, correct systems and high morals and above all the correct and pure belief (Aqeeda) spread into the Ummah, these roots spread out and stay firm on earth and then send their leaves fresh, whereby all mankind shades from the misery of life, with its burning materialistic hell and the severity of hostility, envy and the corruption over the wreckage of this transient world. Almighty Allah(swt) says:

"See you not how Allah sets forth a parable? - A goodly word as a goodly tree, whose root is firmly fixed, and its branches (reach) to the sky (i.e. very high). Giving its fruit at all times, by the leave of its Lord and Allah sets forth parables for mankind in order that they may remember." (Surah 14, Ayah 24-25)

The Muslim Ummah had survived through centuries by clinging to its Aqeeda and by the attitude of the scholars who carried this Aqeeda and drew the path of truth with their blood before their pen. Their righteous ideals and lofty attitudes of truth had indeed been a light that guides and they were an example to follow. They are shining stars wherever they go. The vein of the Ummahs' survival derives from the pens of scholars and the blood of martyrs. And how greater the effect would be if the hand of the scholar that writes is the same hand that carries the gun and pulls the trigger- losing blood to awaken spirits and inspire nations.

The loss of our Muslim blood should awaken spirits and inspire nations. Thus the virtuous soul of the martyr scholar, his high spirit and his movement that knows no exhaustion or despair, stay as incentives that stir up fire in the hearts of Allahs' enemies, and a light that illuminates the way to Allahs' pleasure. Therefore it is a fact that whenever the scholars are themselves the martyrs who irrigate the tree of Islam, with their ink and blood, then the Ummah is surely going to be resurrected from its sleep and be returned back from the state of loss it is in.

Scholars, who mark down history with their blood, already know that comfort can never be attained by comfort, and that the long-possessed glory cannot be regained without bloodshed. They know that the establishment of dignified and invincible kingdoms of great nations, which cleanse society, can never be successfully accomplished without the unique examples who- rise to the level of their responsibility in the reality they live in, taking from past lessons and examples, looking up to the future, aware of the present reality and the challenges it brings about- but prior to all this, firmly relying on Allah and working, planning and organising by day and night.

Those who think that they can change a reality or establish a society through abstract librarian knowledge, like the work of orientalists, or through conferences and demonstrations, the effects of which end once the conference or demonstration is over, are in fact deluded in the sense that they do not apprehend the nature of our deen or the system of our Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam) . In fact those who establish nations are few and a whole nation can survive by the stance of a single individual through whom Allah does protect the nation from perversion and the religion from alteration.

The best example is the stance of Abu Bakr (May Allah be pleased with him) on the issue of apostasy, as well as the stance of Ahmed Bin Hanbal during the ordeal of the creation of the Quran. Almighty Allah illustrates in the Quran that the bearers of principles and the true believers are very few. Allah(swt) says:

"Have you not thought about the group of the children of Israel after (the time of) Musa (Moses) when they said to a prophet of theirs "appoint for us a king and we will fight in Allahs way..." (Surah 2, Ayah 246)

This above Verse discuses the few believers from Bani Israel and shows how these selected believers wanted to prove their commitment to Allah Almighty. Allah(swt) also says:

"Would you refrain from fighting, if fighting was prescribed for you?" they said "why should we not fight in Allah's way, while we have been driven out of our homes and our children (families have been taken as captives) ?" But when fighting was prescribed for them, they turned away, all except a few of them and Allah is All-aware of the Zalimun (polytheists and wrongdoers)." (Surah 2, Ayah 246)

Allah Azwajal explains to us that from the original groups of believers, it was only few who could really accept the challenge and test of Allah. Once again, it was only a few who could endure the hardships and calamities that were part of carrying such principles of the truth.

"And when Talut set out with the army, he said: Verily! Allah will try you by a river. So whoever drinks thereof, he is not of me, and whoever tastes it not, he is of me, except him who takes (thereof) in the hollow of his hand. Yet they drank thereof, all save a few of them." (Surah 2, Ayah 249

In the above Verse, Allah Azwajal explains further how the group of these believers got further diminished, as it was only a few from this fairly committed band of people that obeyed Allah and did not drink the water. In this very context Allah addresses this Ummah, He(swt) says:

"Do you think that you shall enter Paradise without such (trials) as came to those who passed away before you? They encountered severe poverty and adversity, and were so shaken in spirit that even the Messenger and those who believed along with him cried: "When (will come) the help of Allah?" Ah! Verily, the help of Allah is near!" (Surah 2, Ayah 214)

Very few are those who stay patient in the face of hardships and despite all the sacrifice they never change. Almighty Allah says:

"Among the believers are men who are true to the covenant which they made with Allah (i.e. they have gone out for Jihad and showed not their backs to the disbeliever's) so of them some have fulfilled their obligation (i.e. They were martyred), and of them is he who yet waits, and they have not changed (they never proved treacherous to their covenant which they concluded with Allah) in the least." (Surah 33, Ayah 23)

Almighty Allah informs them of the good tidings if they are patient. He(swt) says:

"And surely We shall test you with something of fear and hunger, and loss of wealth and lives and crops; but give glad tidings to the sabirun (the patient)." (Surah 2, Ayah 155)

From all these verses we conclude that the way to establish this deen, preserve the honour of the Ummah and eventually enter Jannah is a way full of hardships that requires from us patience and perseverance. We need to show Almighty Allah that we are truthful through good deeds. Allah (swt) says:

"Do you think that you will enter paradise before Allah tests those of you who fought (in his cause) and tests those who are As-Sabirun (the patient)." (Surah 3, Ayah 142)

And that they should not be like those who were given the Book before, but the time became prolonged to them, so their hearts hardened, and most of them are transgressors." (Surah 57, Ayah 16)

Is it not heartbreaking enough for us that the honour of Islam is violated and the heart of our lands defiled- that our resources are wasted by careless spenders and filthy collaborators- that our monotheists are presented as sacrifices at the doorsteps of ruthless tyrants or sent away to the pits of jails with no protector or rescuer other than Allah. How could we enjoy the comfort of life and the calmness of sleep- how could any drink or food be swallowed easily knowing full well that the honour of Muslim's is violated and Allah's Laws are set aside and dismissed.

For those with high and lofty spirits, it is heartrending to see Muslim brothers and sisters being slaughtered throughout the land and to see the honour of chaste Muslim virgins being tarnished by supporters of the tyrants, the enemies of Allah. The souls that have risen high through faith and whose self honour is derived from Allah, these righteous souls absolutely refuse to see Muslim holy sites in captivity, openly destroyed, most prominently the Al-Aqsa mosque from which Allah had taken his blessed Prophet (sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam) on the night journey.

The first qibla of the Muslims and the third most sacred site "Masjid Al-Aqsa" and now the Jews (cursed ones) whom Allah covered with humiliation and misery and who drew on themselves the wrath of Allah ... rise their flag on top of it. So we call to the grandsons of Khalid ibn Al Waleed and the sons of Sallahuddin! Have the wombs of Muslim women fallen short of giving birth to noble heroes, may the eyes of the cowards never fall asleep.

The violated honours, the stolen and occupied holy sites, the shedded blood and the looted territories are appealing for the true believers to come to their rescue. We then call upon all of YOU to undertake your true role in this critical period of the Muslim Ummahs' history which is now witnessing its second alienation, a period wherein the people of kufr (disbelievers) along with their cheap followers and slaves have unanimously agreed to rip out the root of Muslim's and pledged that Muslims should never stand on their feet again. The enemies of Allah have indeed devised a tremendous plot. They put chains, set barriers, drew boundaries and they gave Jerusalem to the Jews and on that they have signed pacts and agreements while Muslim's are asleep.

This is a call for you true believers, so that we can aquit ourselves in front of Allah(swt) first and then in front of the Muslim Ummah, today and in the future. We, as Muslim's do not want to enter history from its ill-supported and evil gate, the gate of weakness and failure to support the truth, let us awake our determination and make a resolution.

Let us force tightly our ranks and unite our efforts. Let us agree on the priorities of Islamic work at this critical stage which does need you in order to take full advantage of Muslims' resources and apply them where they fit.

The tree of this deen (Al-Islam) does not grow unless quenched with the blood of true believers and with the sweat of the faithful. The way back to the glory of the Muslim Ummah is indeed long and full of hardships; this is our only alternative. May Allah thank and bless you, the sincere and true believers (in Islamic monotheism), that this blessed tree is preserved and protected. Indeed, we as Muslim's do not want the following verses of the holy Quran to apply to us. Allah Almighty says:

"Verily those who conceal the clear proofs, evidences and guidance, which we have sent down, after We have made it clear for the people in the book, they are the ones cursed by Allah and cursed by the cursors." (Surah 2, Ayah 159)

Almighty Allah also says:

"Verily those who conceal what Allah has sent down of the Book, and purchase a small gain therewith (of worldly things), they eat into their bellies nothing but fire. Allah will not speak to them on the Day of Resurrection, nor purify them, and theirs will be a painful torment. Those are they who have purchased error at the price of Guidance, and torment at the price of Forgiveness. So how bold they are to the Fire. That is because Allah has sent down the Book (the Qu'ran) in truth. And verily those who dispute as regards the Book are far way in opposition." (Surah 2, Ayah 174-176)

Those are they who have purchased error at the price of Guidance, and torment at the price of Forgiveness. So how bold they are to the Fire. That is because Allah has sent down the Book (the Qu'ran) in truth. And verily those who dispute as regards the Book are far way in opposition. Indeed there is no goodness in men who are not ready to offer sacrifices in the cause of the word of truth, support their principles, raise their flag of Islam, preserve the holy sites and protect their honour. Truly there is no goodness in an Ummah whose peoples rights are taken away, their blood is shed and their women and weak ones unprotected.
