Did anyone else catch the Wimbledon Finals.
I don't really watch tennis unless these two are playing but the match was EPIC.

No way.

Nadal deserved it.

This is the first time i bothered watching Wimbledon and i gotta say - it was WORTH it.

Great final. A shame Federer lost but Nadal has improved by leaps and bounds. I really thought Federer would win after the 4th set tie break and having a break point mid way through the 5th.

I thought Federer should have won it, his come back was great! But Nadal played well throughout and in the end snatched it. Roger’ll be back next year though!

Yeh the mens final was the only wimbledon i watched this year, although i was impressed by the Williams sisters playing 2 finals in one day and walking away with the championship in both.

I'm glad Andy Murray didn't get far. Far too arrogant. Neither Nadal or Federer come across as arrogant which is why they probably get so far. I was rooting for Federer though! Great match!

That final was amazing. Nadal is only 22, yet has already won 5 Grand Slams. I think Federer's days are numbered, as Nadal is reaching his peak.

No one can say nothing for sure in today's tennis.

In the old days champions would stay on throne for years, guys such as Lendl, Becker, Sampras... Today guys just pop out, shine brightly for a very short time and then dissapear. No one today even knows for players such as Marcelo Rios or Carlos Moya and they were world champions just a few years ago.

He's pretty big time now and won't be so easily forgotten.

well u cant compare those players with todays...for one, the game has completely evolved. actually its much more challenging and tough to win a match then it was back then in my opinion. the reason being is that the ATP and WTA have some of the most grueling tours of ANY sports---at least with other sports you get time off in the off season but tennis does NOT have an off season---its a 365 days tour! quite literally, every other week, players have to play in tournaments just so they can maintain their points since the rankings are all based on a point system---the more tournments you play, the more points you will earn subsequently... also keep in mind that tournaments are not just held in one location; many times they have to go from one continent to another---imagine flying to beijing one day and few days later, you are schedule to play Los Angles! not only is that physically draining but also mentally draining. again, past players did NOT have to go through such tours.

thats the main reason why you see so many top players pulling out of tournments due to injury or are just burned! practically ALL players complain about such schedules! its much more complex then just saying "xyz player from one era is better then lmnop player from this era.."

though, i actually admire federer and say that he is by far the best player to date in history! with the game based on so much power and every player can hit just as hard as the other, it truely takes a remarkable talent to shine and maintain that level for such a long period as federer has done..

anyways, my wife is bugging me...gotta go.. :D

just a guy said it well. WTA made a huge mistake allowing so many tournaments. When Eastern block, India and China opened to the western world, everybody wanted a tennis tournament in their own neighborhood, so WTA came forward. Now with so many tournaments not only is it harder on the players who injure more often, but also sponsors are losing interest in tennis. Ranking system has also been changed so a player now can be in the world’s top 20 without ever having to play any Grand Slam.

nadal deserved it, purely for the fact that he was touted as only a "clay court" player when he first came on the scene, i have to admit that federer has nerves of steel though to defend so many match points.

wimbledon is the only one i watch nowadays, i used to proper support ivanisevic when i was younger, the guy served like a bullet and i was well happy when he won the title

with regards to pacman, the guy came out without a scratch to his face, and amir khan thinks he can beat him.....

Having been mad about tennis for 29 years let me give some comments:

It was probably the second greatest Wimbledon final ever, the greatest being in 1980 when Bjorn Borg beat John McEnroe 1-6 7-5-6-3 6-7 8-6. In that final McEnroe saved seven championship points in the fourth set tie-break. In last Saturday's final I think it was three championship points Federer saved.
