Assalaam alaikum wtwb,
I pray you are well insha'allah.
I came across this text in Imam Ghazali's "The Recitation and Interpretation of the Qu'ran";
I hope it serves as a reminder and an inspiration as it did for me.
Please remember me in your du'as
Wasalaam alaikum
Your brother
The Prophet (SAW) said "A Man who recites the Qu'ran and who then feels that another man has been bestowed (by Allah) more than what he himself has been bestowed, has indeed considered small that which Allah (exalted is He) has considered great.
The Prophet (SAW) said "In the hereafter no intecessor will be superior in rank in the estimation of God (exalted is He) to the Qu'ran - not [even] a Prophet, nor an angel nor anyone else"
The Prophet (SAW) said " If the Qu'ran was inside a hide, fire could not touch the hide because of the blessings of the contact with the Qu'ran"
The Prophet (SAW) said "One of the best acts of Ibadaat of my ummah is the recitation of the Quran" The Prophet (SAW) said " God (exalted is He) had read the Sura of Ta Ha and the Sura of Ya Sin a thousand years before He created the creation. When angels heard the Qu'ran they said, 'blessed is the community to which it will be sent down, blessed are the minds which will bear it, and blessed are the tongues which will utter it."
The Prophet (SAW) said "The best of you is the one who has learnt the Qu'ran and has taught it"
The Prophet (SAW) said "Allah (SWT) says "The man whom Qu'ran reading has prevented from supplicating to Me and making petition to Me, is given by Me the best of the rewards of those who are grateful (to Me) (At-Tirmidhi)
The Prophet (SAW) said "On the Day of Resurrection, three men will be on the heap of Black musk (i.e. the best quality). No dread will overtake them, and no reckoning will find them until that which the people will be occupied with is over. One of these three men is he who reads the Qu'ran seeking the face of Allah (SWT). Another is he who leads a group of people in the ritual prayer in a way that pleases them." (The third man not mentioned in Ghazali's text is the one who summons people to prayer five times a day and night).
The Prophet (SAW) said, "Those who are concerned with the Qu'ran are friends of Allah (SWT) and are special to Him (SWT) - Ibn Hanbal in his Musnad explains "Those who are concerned with the Qu'ran" means the believers who safeguard it and cleave to it by reciting it and memorizing it abd by acting in accordance with its teachings.
The Prophet (SAW) said "Human souls become rusty just as iron becomes rusty". On being asked, 'Messenger of Allah, how can they be polished?', he (SAW) replied, "through recitation of the Qu'ran and remembrance of death"
The Prophet (SAW) said "Allah (SWT) certainly listens to a Qu'ran reader much more than does the owner of a songstress to her" - Ibn Maja
