Forum Background Design Challenge

Assalaamu alaykum wa rahmatullaah,

As you might have already read, there is some discussion going on about the new background for the Islamic Awakening forum.

I understand that some effort might have gone into the new one and maybe there is some emotional attachment to it but nevertheless...

Some people like it and some don't so here's your chance to contribute.

If you feel you can design a better or even a different design to the one displayed currently (the pink one) then feel free to post your designs on this thread. If you don't know how to do that then please ask.

The deadline is the 31st July 2008 (aproximately 2 weeks)

If there are no worthy contenders then there should be a Shoora whether we should keep the old one or stick with the new one. Aaight!

By the way you don't necessarily have to do it yourself, you can ask someone who has the skills to design something which you have an idea of.

I personally am not a designer but I will come up with something just to start things off.

The new design is very nice in my opinion. There certainly is no reason for a change so soon. Plus it's abuz zubair's forum so up to him really, don't you think?

I think having the choice to choose between different skins sounds like a real cool idea. I like the current lay out, but I'd like to have the liberty to switch to skins with pink, white, green etc...

Maybe someone can come up with something good!

So what's happening with the design?

The reason I didn't submit a design was because it was quite time consuming and my time was very limited so I had to prioritise.

By the way Abu Zubair what's your opinion on the use of images containing living beings in them?

May Allaah reward all of you for all the new features. It looks pretty impressive.

Whatever happens please, please, please change the pink colour to something else like green or red.

I like the new look, especially compared to the old look. Granted it looks like a big AbuzZubair is constantly sitting at the top of the forum but all you have to do is scroll down a bit to get rid of him/it.
It is a strong graphic, well made.

Plus it's abuz zubair's forum so up to him really, don't you think?
But what about democracy...?

Perhaps for some it does. However I think it would look equally sharp/better if done in a yellow-lime green. But that could attract a certain crowd and there'd be even more scuffles all over the forum...
