I have a showdown with a madhali sheik , he says my mind is corrupted with qutbism and ikwanism. he tells me 2 brng the evideness , i knw since i am the only non saudi salafi in sri lanka (from whom i knw ) i will be easily humiliated , however if i dnt go it would mean he is rite . pls pls pls help me

bro its not the evidince he will use evdinces , which i will not be able to refute as he is a sheik and i am a jahil and also when everyone around u is like "ure qutbube" "ur brainwashed" "jahil" u fell lost and dumbstruck , i really hate there manners with people and there blind support of the secular govts and there hatred of muslim bro(non saudi talafi) , they refuse 2 call sayid qutb a sahed . agreed and by the sounds of it the ones bringing the argument and calling you bad names are more jahill,this is a classic recipe for a super salafy slap down with you as the victim,best advice is to leave it and keep yourself to yourself,give salams and be nice to them and leave it at that,if you do not understand quite what you are talking about in the first place they will annihilate you,simple as that,take it from me,I been there,long time back already,leave it well alone and may Allah make it easy for you,ameen..........

lately on this site i have seen the word "salafi" in many threads. it is confusing me. who the heck are salafis, what does it mean, and what do they do? all i know is that if a person wants to be a true Muslim they should be following the orders of Allah and his Messenger. so if you could tell me what this madhali word means and the salafis ideal thing i would appreciate it. until then i can't comment on what you've just asked since i don't know these words. heard them but dont know them. asalamu alaykum wrwb.

Sister it's probably best if you don't get involved in the whole fitna of the 'Salafee' (also known as Madkhali) movement. They are mentioned many times in this forum, and yes it can be confusing (especially since the word salafi has positive connotations, hence the usage of the term madkhalis - i.e. the followers of Sheikh Rabee' al-Madkhali, who, unfortunately, holds some unorthodox views).

I was like you about a year ago but do not worry take your time to learn a bit.

Briefly, here is what it is.
Madkhalis are basically those who are quick to call some muslims deviant . A lot of what they say are wrong .At times Madkhali sheikh will write up a whole book to show the deviancy of this muslim . Some of those muslims being accused are Syed Qutb, Hassan Al banna and Sheikh Yusuf Alqaradhawi but we have to know they are humans and humans make mistakes. Some of the books written by SHeikh Rabee' Al madkhali have already reached Indonesia and Malaysia. A prominent mufti from malaysia has commented on these books.He said he is going to put a stop on these books from coming to his state.

By the way , there are lots of madkhalis in US and UK. Salafi talk forum or SPUBS propagate this madkhali beliefs.

i don't think i want to even get involved in this. i thought that the word salafi was used for a good group of people who follow the path of rasulullah. well i'm a Muslim sunni and that's all i'm gonna stop it at. as for the books i'm not gonna even read them. lol. so the brother who posted this thread why not just leave him, if he wants to stay as being an ignorant or stubborn person let him be. you do your part and if he doesn't listen then it's not your job. don't be afraid of embarrassment. you should only be embarrassed if you were lying and you're not inshAllah. asalamu alaykum wrwb.

why you guys care what they think just follow the quran as it been explained by the Sunnah and the way the sahabah understood other than that why you care what they think?

we have alot to focus on and catch up with and no time to be involved in useless debates just do what is right and move on you have nasihah give it and move on

The main FIQH Madhab is shafi , however there are many groups some totaly strange , salafis are not quite popular island wide though the salafi akida (athari) is quite popular in the capital. outside not much except in a few towns , despite the increased popularity of threre akida , they madhalis are quite hated of.
