Assalamu'alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh
Ramadan is the most blessed month in the Islamic calendar. It is the month when the Quran was revealed. It is when Allah subhana wa tala promises His greatest mercy and reward for His sincere believers.
Al Jalal Masjid will be presenting a series of weekly talks on different topics about Ramadan in order for that sincere believer to gain benefit and knowledge Insha'Allah in order to seek Allah mercy and reward.
The series of talks will be delivered by various people of knowledge who have a dynamic style which is able to touch the heart and inspire the mind, Insha'Allah.
Who are the various people of knowledge delivering the talks:
· Abu Luqman is a student of knowledge who has had the opportunity to study various Islamic sciences whilst in the Middle East over a number of years including qira'at and usool, and upon his return to the UK completed his masters in international relations and is now undertaking doctoral research.
· Shakeel Begg graduated from the Medinah Islamic University in Medinah, Saudi Arabia in the Dawah faculty. He has been very active on the UK dawah scene for many years. He is currently the Imam & Khateeb of the Lewisham & Kent Islamic Centre.
· Abdul Majid before moving to the UK was a Imam & Khateeb for the Ajman Awqaf in UAE. He has a BA in Sociology and MA in Islamic Studies & Arabic. He worked with Dr. Bilal Philips as a researcher in the latter's Islamic department in Dar-Ul-Fath Publishers. He co-founded the Islamic Studies program at Preston University in UAE with Dr. Bilal Philips. The Sheikh is now one of the regular Sheikhs answering questions on Islam Channel - Islam Q&A.
· Uthman Lateef specialises in Islamic history and is a popular speaker at Islamic circles. He has studied Arabic and Tafsir in Syria. He has a BA Honours in History, MA in Crusader Studies and presently doing a PhD in the Muslim efforts to reclaim Jerusalem. He is also working for Hittin, an institute for the purpose of bringing together Muslim researchers, academics and activists to present Islam and Muslim historical achievements and contribute to the global Islamic resurgence.
