For the benefit of those who don't know Arabic:
The mufti of Egypt is being asked for a fatwa regarding the fasting of TV actors and actresses in romantic dramas: is their fasting nullified when they kiss each other on screen? The answer was: "If it excites their desires, then yes their fasting in invalidated; however, if it does not excite their desires, then their fasting is valid."
Can you believe that? And he did not even say a word about the hukm of these fussaq actors and actresses kissing and touching each other in romantic dramas, only "is their fasting invalidated by their kissing or not"?
Wallahi, this is a shame and a disaster...:mad::mad:
It reminds me of the time al-Ubaykan was told about the American soldiers raping Iraqi women, and he said something like "how can you accuse them of zina? Did you see the "needle entering the hole" (hal ra'ayta al-mayla fil-mak'halah)?"

Or the other infamous and laughable fatwa (some brothers here might remember it), which was along the general lines of:
"Shaykh, what is the ruling of jihad in Iraq for the Iraqi people? Is it fardh 'ayn on the Iraqi people to fight the American occupiers?"
The answer:
"Jihad is not valid without the permission of the waliyy al-amr. The Iraqis must seek the permission of the Iraqi waliyy al-amr (I believe it was either Paul Bremer:eek: at the time, or perhaps Iyad Allawi); if he gives them permission, then they may do jihad against the Americans; if not, then jihad is forbidden for them."
It would be funny if it were a joke, but unfortunately it appears that this fatwa was serious, and Allah knows better...

I'd like to repeat our esteemed brother Mustafa al-Muhajjir's dua'a regarding al-Ubaykan: may Allah send an RPG into his face.

I think that is a bit harsh; it would be better to just ask Allah to give him what he deserves.

Behold those who sell the ayat of Allah for a paltry sum, just like the Rabbis and Pharisees in time of old.

he deserves more then a RPG in the face, and wallahi I knew it was Egyptian only by looking at the title of the thread, the Egyptians are always known for their wierd Fatawa (you can shoot palestinians if they try to enter Egypt, a man can work with a woman if he drinks her milk) may allah give them what they deserve.

There is no doubt left concerning the sincerity (or lack thereof) of this man. How in the world are we to accept something like this without doubting this man's motive. If any other person not in the governement appointed seat he has, said the same thing he will be publically crusified with no one to read Janaza over him. Its only because this man has completed some courses in some Islamic University, thus we are asked to with-hold our tongues. But I remind you that, the Murtad Ahmad Raza Brailwi was his people's Scholar, yet he coluded with the British to say the SAME thing Ubaykan is saying.

It's still on youtube with a conversation with a bro who shout on him about what's he doing.
But the whole world knew what's going on with the so called Egypt Scholars, they are just the rulers' shoes, while the real scholars are hidden by the Media or by Thawagheet Prisons, so who can take a fatwa from the Rowaibidha anymore except FANNANEEN & FANNANAT!?
