Mashallah - this is a very necessary and insightful article from our sister:

Respect is a very, very big thing. If it's not there then all this talk about unity, ummah, jama'at, huqooq Allah and Huqooq- al-Ibaad, let alone discoursing on taqwah and Emaan etc is worse than mere 'hot air' - it is sheer hypocrisy. Actions do indeed speak louder than words - at least - in the sight of Allah - subhaanahu wa ta'ala.

Respecting others and giving them, be they - strangers - Muslims 'mubtadi' or kuffar - their rights is the real strategic depth of Islam - La emaana liman laa amaana lahu / bu'ithto li utammima makaarima al-akhlaaq and are what make this Deen superior.

If we lose our good intention, insaaf and akhlaaq - and win the argument - of course that would be a phyrric victory.
