In January 2002, six Algerians resident in Bosnia were acquitted of charges that they conspired to attack the US and British embassies in Sarajevo. The very morning they expected to be released into the arms of their families, the six men were hooded and kidnapped by US agents and extradited to Guantanamo Bay. CAMPAIGNS: FROM PALESTINE TO PADDINGTON GREEN (http://forums.cageprisoners.com/showthread.php?p=2441)
Activists with experience of human rights work in occupied Palestine begin a week-long water-only fast and vigil in solidarity with Palestinian prisoners who have temporarily suspended an open-ended hunger strike to engage in negotiations with Israeli prison authorities regarding basic humanitarian conditions.
The solidarity fast also seeks to draw attention to the alarming increase in internment without trial and the denial of basic human rights being endured by Iraqis, Afghanis and others interned in US and UK administered detention centres and prisons worldwide.
A fast and vigil tent will be maintained 24-hours a day from 12 noon on Monday September 6th to the evening Sunday 12th on Paddington Green to highlight the detention of UK and foreign nationals in Britain.

In January 2002, six Algerians resident in Bosnia were acquitted of charges that they conspired to attack the US and British embassies in Sarajevo. The very morning they expected to be released into the arms of their families, the six men were hooded and kidnapped by US agents and extradited to Guantanamo Bay. Activists with experience of human rights work in occupied Palestine begin a week-long water-only fast and vigil in solidarity with Palestinian prisoners who have temporarily suspended an open-ended hunger strike to engage in negotiations with Israeli prison authorities regarding basic humanitarian conditions.
The solidarity fast also seeks to draw attention to the alarming increase in internment without trial and the denial of basic human rights being endured by Iraqis, Afghanis and others interned in US and UK administered detention centres and prisons worldwide.
A fast and vigil tent will be maintained 24-hours a day from 12 noon on Monday September 6th to the evening Sunday 12th on Paddington Green to highlight the detention of UK and foreign nationals in Britain.
