A former Guantanamo detainee, Moazzam Begg was kidnapped by the Pakistani authorities and sent to Bagram and later, Cuba, for 3 years. He was returned to Britain and released in January 2005. Moazzam has authored the bestselling autobiography "Enemy Combatant"
Murtaza Khan (Abu Hasnayn) - renowned Da'ee, graduate with BA Honours in Usool-ud-Din from Islamabad University). Currently an Islamic Studies teacher in Al-Noor school, Abu Hasnayn is a Khateeb and da'ee with several years of experience.
HHUGS (http://www.hhugs.org.uk/) was setup in September 2004 by the efforts of the local community in response to the increasing number of 'anti-terror' arrests across the country. HHUGS provides practical support and advice to households devastated by the arrest of a family member.
Cageprisoners (http://www.cageprisoners.com) was established in October 2003 to raise awareness of the plight of the caged prisoners at Guantanamo Bay, and elsewhere, through effective legal means.
Presentations by Cageprisoners and HHUGS will be played during the course of the day. A bookstall will be present, and "Enemy Combatant" will be available for purchase.
