The moon is visible to us here as the second night , yet India which is quite near to us will be starting fasting tomorrow.

Here the new moon was sighted in the early afternoon by the telescope but apparently the new moon has to be seen by the naked eye for it to be accepted , someone in morroco actually had the blessing of seeing the moon first. So cool hearing that people go searching hoping to be the first to sight the new moon.

Salam Alikum
Ramadan Mubarak to all.

There is something that bothers me about welcoming of Ramadan.

Why isn't the testimony of one believer enough for rest of Ummat Muhammad (saw) (throughout the world) to begin fasting?

There are two valid opinions with respect to this issue. i) One person sighting the moon is enough for the entire Ummah, and ii) every country has its own sighting.
