Assalamualaykum,
whats the ruling on this matter, as i have met some sisters who make me feel as if i'm doing such a bad thing coz i wear different coloured jilbabs, and not just black? is there some evidence that says that women have to dress in black outside in public? Jazakallah khair.
Walaykumsalam.

there is no one particular colour a woman must wear it just shouldnt be attractive etc. black fits that spec but if a woman wants to wear another colour that is also fine

Her Hijaab should not be ornate ie a heavily embroidred hijab is ornate and attractive to a man , who can judge what a man will be attracted to, so better to keep to plain ordinary hijaabs. A sister wearing a bright red headsqare is going to attract everyones attention.
Allaah knows the best.
Following are some points .
Question: Can you tell me the ruling on women wearing a red or yellow `abâyah? Does she have to wear black?
Answered by Sheikh Riyâd al-Musaymîrî, professor at al-Imâm University in Riyadh
There are no restrictions in Islamic Law requiring women to wear special colors. Women should only avoid colors that attract the attention of others. What attracts attention is a matter of custom. Something might draw attention in one country and be completely ordinary in another.
Women should adhere to the customs of their countries in this matter and avoid drawing attention to themselves. For instance, since women in Saudi Arabia all wear the black `abâyah, no woman living in Saudi Arabia should go outside wearing another color under the pretense that there is no restriction against colorful clothing in Islamic Law. In her case, she would be doing something unlawful by drawing unnecessary attention to herself in public.

As Salaamu Alaykum Wa Rahmatullah
It is better to not wear such lively colors such as green, pink, etc( any colors that will attract major attention). Its best to stick with colors such as black, grey, and brown.
Also, be aware if there are any patterns on the abaya/jilbab/hijaab.
If I said anything wrong, it was from me, and if I said anything correct it is from Allah.
JazakAllahu Khayr
