as-salaamu alaikum
Sayyid qutb (may allah be merciful with him) is a man who many of the callers of islam to day differ over and those who have spoken cocerning sayyid are 3 groups.
1)A group that clearly shows blind love for sayyid qutb and refuses to crticize him on nay point.Infact they over praise him and regard him to be "from the imaams of guidance"as salman al'awdah said or from the "fuqahaah of da'wah" as shaikh safar said in his vol.1 of his book thaahiratul-irjaa' or as shaikh muhammad ibn sa'eed al-qatataani(author of alwalaa-walbaraa) said on tape where he described sayyid qutb and abul-a'la almawdoodi as both being upon a sound 'aqeedah!!! and it is no surpise that these 3 callers are from the qutbee school in saudi arabia.This form of ghuloo that they have towards sayyid qutb is blameworthy in the sharee'ah and is o diffrent then the ta'asub of those who follow their soofee shaikhs or those who blindly follow the 4 fiqh schools and believing that haqq is limited to their mathhab or the early ikhwaaniyoon's extreme love for hasan albanna
2)The second group is extreme in attacking sayyid qutb and regarding him as being the greatest calamity of the 20th century that whoever doesnt speak ill of sayyid qutb or uses his words in a book or merely praises him in an aspect of his da'wah then he is qutbee!!! And te head of this group shaikh rabee' almadkhalee is known for his khaarijee descriptions of sayyid like him saying in a tape"The salaf used to warn from and even execute those who were much better than sayyid qutb like al-ja'd ibn dirhaam(was the founder of the schoolof the ta'teel school) and al-hallaaj(who claimed to be allah) So if these 2 clear kaafirs are better then much better than sayyid qutb then what would that make sayyid???? Shaikh rabee' also referred to sayyid as being "khaabeethun-nafs wan-niyah"one who has an evil-soul and evil intentions"and not even the first khawaarijj were dealt in such a way!
and the best way is the middle way and in dealing with sayyid qutb
we:
1-realize that he has big mistakes in his 'aqeedah
2-warn those who read his books from these deviations
3-recognize the haqq in some aspects of his da'wah
4-use his kalaam if it agrees with the haqq
5-ask allah to have mercy upon him
6-defend him when he is being oppressed
7-recognize that he isnt a scholar of the sharee'ah and if we adhere to this way we will be safe from the ghuloo of the first group(al-qutbeeyoon)
and the thum(oppression) of the second group(***)
