As salaamualaykum

Allaah is the most merciful , Allaah draws near to us asking Is there anyone who is calling on Me, so I may answer his prayer? Is there anyone who is asking of Me, so I may grant his request? Is there anyone who is seeking My forgiveness, so that I may forgive him?" (Related by Muslim, Kitab al-Musafirin wa Qasruhu, 6/36)
He gives us so many opportunities to remove our sins, we should grasp these chances whenever they occur, we can never know when our soul will be taken , how many souls were with us last year but are not with us now.
Within these ten days of Dhul Hijjah springs such a chance, in which we can weigh down our good side on the scales.
May Allaah accept our deeds. Ameen.

Assalamu aliakum, do correct me if I get any of the days mixed up...

which day should I keep the fast of Arafah? Should I keep it on the day of Arafah that is actually the day in saudi or the day which my local masajid says it is?

My local mosque (Bareilwiyat) have decided they will do eid on sunday (31st) which makes the day of Arafah on saturday. But in saudi eid is on saturday hence day of Arafah is tomorrow. I have been keeping it the same day as the "saudi's" and my family and locals say im wrong because the "saudis" are doing their's today. But I thought to not keep the fast the same day as, the day of Arafah was being observed by the pilgrims would be like saying they are performing hajj on the wrong days.

I know its a bit late to ask...but if someone could reply before tomorrow I will be grateful.

JazakAllahu Khairun

Wa alaykumusalaam .

From what I have read with this regard is that you fast with the community, as long as your area is going with the sighting of the moon and not from calculations.

Allaah knows best , hope this helps .

Assalamu alaikum, JazakAllahu Khairun.

Ramadhan I start it with the local mosque (there are about 5-7 mosques within the local community). But I was just concerned about fasting on the day of Arafah. I suppose I fell into this group:

The last group said: we will fast Ramadaan with the country where we are living, but we will fast the day of ‘Arafah with Saudi.

But within my community there are people doing eid on different days. My mosque normally wait for the saudis to make a decision and then do it the day after. Its not about moon sighting but more about not doing eid or starting ramadhan on the same day has the W$*#@!#.

Allahu Alam
wa alaikum assalaam
