Assalamu 'alaykum,

This is a question for brother Abuz Zubayr, but anyone else who knows the answer feel free to respond:

I remember hearing from one brother that Shaykh Ibn Baz (I think it was) described either Safar al-Hawali or Salman al-'Awdah as "Ibnu Taymiyyata 'Asrihi" (the Ibn Taymiyyah of his time).

Which one was it, Sh. Safar or Sh. Salman?

I heard something similar, too, but not sure if it was really said by Ibn Baz, Salih al-Fawzan about Safar al-Hawali or not. Whether the comment was made or not is irrelevant.

What is relevant is the masterpiece of Sh Safar: Manhaj al-Asha'ira... we desperately need to get it out... that reminds me, I need to chase up the brother!

Does Shaykh Ibn Baz (Rahimuhullah) not have a Majmou ul Fataawa... I never heard any other contemporaries or from the past with a Majmou ul Fatwa apart from Shaykh Ibn Taymiyyah, does that not make him Shaykhul Islam Ibn Taymiyyah of our time.. how big is his majmou ul Fataawa compared to Ibn Taymiyyahs and who else fromour contemporaries has such.

Majmoo' al-Fatawh of Shaikh al Islam Ibn Taimiyyah (rahimahu Allah) are a collection of his fatwas, that were collected by a Shaikh whose name I think was al-Qasim?

maybe someone could check his name and get us some info about the Shaikh who collected Ibn Taimiyyah's fatwas in majmoo' al-Fatawa?
