It states that Shaykh Abdul Qadir passed away at Fajr on Jumu'ah, the 14th of Shawwal, 1425.

You can find his biography in Arabic written by one of his students at www.alarnaut.com as well as links to a few of his lectures.

His many beneficial works and efforts in spreading the sunnah and the madh-hab of the salaf will not end with his death, in sha Allah, as people will continue to benefit from his editing of countless books of the sunnah. And there is hardly a talib ul ilm in the world who does not have at least one book which he performed tahqeeq of. And some of his books have been translated into various languages including English. So I ask Allah Ta'ala to accept those many works of his and place them in the scale of his good deeds and to pardon him and to pardon all of us and to gather us up together with him on Yawm al Qiyamah in the company of the Prophets, the Siddiqs, the martyrs, and the righteous.

Assalamualaikum to all , I just wanted to write a few words about my teacher Shaikh Abdul Qadir Aranout may Allah have mercy upon him , while i was studying in Damascus i spent most of my time with the Shaikh and i will never ever forget him. I could tell you about how much knowledge he had esp in hadith however i just want to tell you about his character. Whenever he entered a gathering of students of knowledge he would always be the first to give salam and shake the hands of as many students as he could, when he would sit in his maktaba after every asr taking questions by phone and in person he would get up from his chair and take a reference book from the shelf , he would do this even though he was suffering from an illness to his leg which made hm walk with alot of pain , he would answer quetions with humility and insight , he would always be concerned about the welfare of muslims where ever they are, the respect he showed to other scholars even though he would differ with them in certain issues , i remember a student from Damascus university asked him about Shaikh Albani Rahimullah as the students teacher would critisize Shaikh Albani , Shaikh AbdulQadir spoke about Shaikh Albani with respect and honour , he defended him with noble words and justice , i remember Shaikh AbdulQadir saying ' Only those who have knowledge of Hadith can truely critisize Shaikh Albani ' , the Shaikh himself use to consult Shaikh Albani's works in his maktaba esp if people would ask him about a hadith in the four books ( Abu Dawud, Tirmizi,Nasai and Ibn Majah )Even though the Shaikh could give them a judgement on the hadith he had great confidence in Shaikh Albani's works. The great scholar of Sham al Awzaiee once said ' We memorise hadith by practising upon them ' . Having the opportunity of be close to Shaikh Abdul Qadir i realised that following the Sunnah was not just reading but observing the people of Sunnah , their manners , their humility , their honesty , their humanity and most importantly their love for Ar Rahman.
There are so many things i could write however what i have written is just a few momorise i have of our teacher may Allah have mercy upon him and bless his family in this world and the hereafter.
