Assalaamu 'alaykum brothers and sisters,
First of all I want to say that I have not much knowledge about my own 'aqeedah let alone the 'aqeedah of the ash'ariyyah/maturidiyyah. But still I have some questions and maybe they are allready answered, so a link will in that case suffice.
I was reading a debate where a brother stated that it is a myth that Ash'aris do only believe in seven attributes. So what do they actually believe, because I was also under the impression that their 'aqeedah was build upon this principle?
Also another brother said that is is totally untrue that Matureedis en Ash'aris have many differences and that they actually are quite the same. So is this true? And if it is not true and they do have differences; what are these differences?
I have the feeling that Ash'aris and Matureedis are actually hiding their 'aqeedah, because when I ask them to explain me what they actually believe, they give answers which are at least very vague. So I truly hope that someone can help me with my questions - not to refute those brothers and sisters on these creeds, but to give strenght to my own 'aqeedah i.e. the 'aqeedah of old women.
