Ya ikhwan, make du'aa for me.
I'm gonna have an easy time doing tasawwuf because I'm going to jail soon to await trial insha'allah.
If you don't hear from me for a while that's where I went.
They're probably going to put me in the hole (23 hour a day lockdown) so I think I'm going to have to develop a love for sleep, especially until I find a way to get some books).
Please let everyone know to make du'aa for me as much as you can, that Allah frees me and grants me relief from my suffering.
Allahi baarak feekum.
My legal name, by the way, is Gregory Gatsik and I'm eventually going to be transferred to Atlanta City Detention Center in Atlanta, Ga. so if anyone could help me with some books that would be great as they won't let me bring any. Call up first to make sure I've arrived because I have to be transferred down there from NJ.
(please someone send me "The Art of War" by Sun Tzu. That would make me so happy I would practically cry).
Any books have to be sent from the publisher (they may allow books to be sent by online bookstores but I'm not sure) and have to either be softcover or have the hardcovers removed by the publisher.
Please spread the word and any help would be taking a great burden off of me, regarding books and anything else and may Allah remove the burdens on yaum al qiyamah of anyone who helps remove a burden from his brother in the dunyah, aameen.

Can you post details of your lawyer? That's the only way I think we can keep in touch with you, I assume.
May Allah make it easy for you, dear brother. Prisons are a huge part of tarbiyya process. What are the charges against you anyway?

Assalamu 'alaikum
May Allah make it easy for you akhi.
The invocation of Prophet Yunus ('alayhi assalam) is:
La ilaha illa anta sub'hanaka innee kuntu min ath-thalimeen
(There is none worthy of worship but You, glory be to You, verily I have been one of the wrong-doers)
Here's the ayah it's found in:
La ilaha illa Anta (none has the right to be worshipped but You (O Allah), Glorified (and Exalted) be You (above all that evil they associate with You), Truly, I have been of the wrong doers." (21:87 Quran)
May Allah make your trials easy for you and give you the strength to overcome them.

Test from Allah comes in various ways. I pray that you'll be steadfast in your deen. Continuously make dua because who else understands your situation, pain and suffering other than you and no one is able to answer your dua other than Allah.

As salamu 'alaykum,
Brothers and sisters, I sincerely appreciate all of your du'aa's.
Surprisingly enough, I've been on house arrest for two months awaiting to see if I qualify for a pre trial diversion program in which case I would be on house arrest for a year. This is why I was planning on undoing my bail and going back to jail to await trial and skip the pretrial diversion: because one way or another I was informed that I would be staying in on house arrest this time as well as the entire year if I got pre trial diversion.
I just called up my probation officer's office today to tell them I want to undo my bail and be put back in jail as opposed to house arrest and then I heard some news which seemed to good to be true and I'm still not feeling secure that it isn't too good to be true.
He told me that if I get the pre trial diversion that he the probation office would be in charge of me, not the courts, and that they will more than likely have no problem allowing me to go back to Atlanta, and not be on house arrest and just be on probation and have some requirements.
He said this could happen as soon as two weeks. This is drastically different from the impression I was under until this morning and have been since I was charged and it's still isn't etched in stone but I got taken from one world to another in a few second period.
I was planning on going back to jail and expecting to possibly do a two to five year sentence and now I'm looking at possibly being free from house arrest (which has been worse than jail, literally) and being allowed back to my most beloved city in two weeks with a years probation and some other conditions.
I don't doubt that du'aa' was a major factor in this and I appreciate everyone's du'aa's.
I actually wasn't even too worried about going to jail, I was just worried about how I was going to get books in there, but this is a million times preferable insha'allah.
It's still not definite and anything could still happen, but it seems far more optimistic than I ever expected it to be at this point.
And my crime didn't have anything to do with Islam, by the way. It was just something stupid I did when I wasn't in my right state of mind due to extreme pressure, stress, and anger, and I was basically over the edge, so to speak.
I appreciate everyone who prayed for me and appreciate everyone's kind words.
Allah yajzeekumul khair.

As salamu 'alaykum,
Thank you all for your du'aa's and kind words.
As of right now, I may not definetely be going to jail as there has been a turn of events insha'allah. Nothing is definite yet insha'allah.
I'll keep you updated and get my lawyers info posted here in case I still wind up in there as I will need books but right now things look more optimistic.
Please keep me in your du'aa's and may Allah bless and reward you all, aameen.

Akh, May Allah swt make your affair and the affairs of the muslimeen easy. Aameen. Remember whatever afflictions you suffer in the dunya, will purify you and make the path to jannah easier for you, bi'idhnillahi ta'aala
Narrated 'Abdullah:
I visited the Prophet SAWS during his ailments and he was suffering from a highfever. I said, "You have a highfever. Is it because you will have a double reward for it?" He SAWS said, "Yes, for no Muslim is afflicted with any harm but that Allah will remove his sins as the leaves of a tree fall down." Bukhari No. 5282

please refer to the first post in the thread as I might be turning myself in today and undoing my bail.
They lied to me two weeks ago about allowing me back to Atlanta etc. and changed their story today so it seems I'm hopefully going to be going back to jail and going for a guilty plea bi idhnillah.
I will eventually be transferred to Atlanta City Detention center insha'allah.
Look up Atlanta City Detention Center's phone number (I don't have it) and call every now and then and ask if Gregory David Gatsik is there.
If I am, ask them the rules about sending books, and they can explain it better than I can, but it's in the first post.
Please send me the Art of War, and Islamic books as well.
Allahi baarak feekum.
If things go how I hope (may Allah make it so) I will be in jail tomorrow at the latest insha'allah.

For Allaahs sake , would you not be better paying the bail ? In light of what is happening with muslims everywhere? Only Allaah knows what can happen to you next . if you can avoid doing the jail time then you should take that option.
I have found out that dar usalaam books are not allowed to be sent to certain prisons . Allaah knows best.

Allah yajzeekumul khair.
I actually was out on bail and am undoing my bail (long story).
The conditions of my bail are worse then jail itself by many times and at least if I go back to jail, and get convicted it will count as time served towards my sentence.
It's a very long, complicated story but they had me on house arrest under very emotianally and psychologically difficult circumstances and I was much happier in jail, although they will likely have me in the hole as opposed to general pop.
Jail was much better and easier for my own well being than my present condition on bail.
If someone could send me a copy of the Art of War and Ma'alim Fit Tariq of Sayyid Qutb in arabic and english that would be great. I will hopefully have a Quran but insha'allah we'll stay in contact.
I already essentially turned myself in but my probation officer said they any day they will call me and have me come over to turn myself in as I guess they have paperwork etc. so barring a miracle from Allah that is against the laws of nature, I will be going back to jail because they gave me a choice between jail or something much worse and I chose the former. I was hoping to be back in jail today but they seem to be daudling. Maybe they really want me to suffer so their keeping me away from what I prefer (jail). I don't know why they lied to me about allowing me back to ATl in the first place and made me have false hopes for two weeks, but regardless, this is my situation.
Allah yajzeekumul khair.

as for the stretch being shorter, I've only been locked up two weeks, and to me it seems longer but that's because I spent much of it in the hole.
I don't have much to miss on the outside and the choice they gave me was a no brainer to choose jail instead but either way, I'm going to have no recourse to anything or anyone except Allah and insha'allah I will strengthen my eman in their due to the desperation I will have no choice except to turn to Allah sincerely.
Maybe I'll become a much stronger and firm believer then I've ever been as a result of it insha'allah.
Desperation and lack of breathing room (figuaritvely) can be like bitter medicine that are difficult to take but afterwards they cure the disease. May Allah cure us all of what ails us, aameen.
The worst thing for me has been that I've suffered, but been given a small amount of breathing room leaving just enough miserable enjoyment to not be be victorious but anyone who's read the art of war knows that the fiercest fighter is the one who is not left with any choice but to fight and my only weapon is my supplication to Allah and my faith in him and this will do nothing but strengthen both insha'allah. And being in the hole is that to the hundredth power.
