I've been a member here for quite some time, but have never really posted or contributed to this forum!

I'd just like to take this opportunity, to ask and inquire , if I may, about the purpose of this forum. Masha'Allah I've seen a variety of sub forums which seem very beneficial, however as a new user where would I begin to benefit from the forum?

Well I am a new user myself. I suggest (if you don't know arabic) that you start with learning it.
Next learn about tawheed first, I suggest Muhhamad ibn abd wahhab "kitab ut-tawheed".
