As salaam mu alikom fellow brothers & sisters,

I am currently a student researching Sha'ria law on rape offences. Are four witnesses required? If no witnesses are present, what are the consequences for the accuser? Does the accuser have any remedies available to her against the accused? I would be grateful if any of your learned selves, most notably Abuz Zubair, could direct me towards a true understanding of how and in what ways our law stands on these offences.

Kind Regards

Imran Khan

As salaam mu alikom, thank for your assistance. Is there any information regarding the notion that four or two witnesses are required in order to prosecute an accused?
