Ruslan Chagaev Beats Nikolai Valuev for Heavyweight Title

Believe it or not, the guy on the right won. Despite being almost a foot shorter and almost 100 pounds lighter, Ruslan Chagaev won the WBA heavyweight boxing title from Nikolai Valuev Saturday night in Stuttgart, Germany.

Chagaev, the Uzbek who calls himself "White Tyson," beat Valuev, the Russian who entered the match with a 46-0 record, on a majority decision.

Valuev was sporting a newly shaved back, and perhaps he's kind of a Sampson of back hair: He didn't seem as tough without the back hair that he's so well known for.

Interestingly, I read recently when Hitler was younger, he was nearly taken to a psychiatrist called Freud, but didn't go in the end. Imagine what would have happened in the meetings, as Freud was a Jew.

Not necessarily, Freud was known to have told people who were being abused by relatives that they were in fact projecting their own sick fantasies onto these family members and creating these stories perhaps at the subconscious level.

More likely would be that Hitler would have left convinced that he was deeply attracted to his mother and hideously jealous of his father as a result, who he'd view as an intrusive suitor for the woman he desires.

Also, depending on which stage of Freud's career he was in, Hitler may have also left with a big bag of cocaine and the instructions to "take 3 times daily." Which is one of the last things you want to put in the hands of a megalomaniac.

Yes, this particular theory of Freud's is known as the Oedipus Complex. Taking it's name from the Greek myth of Oedipus who killed his father and married his mother.

A more modern reference to it can be found in the film Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. They bring Freud forward in time to assist with a school project. Freud offers his skills to one of them (I forget which) and he replies "Oh, no thanks, I just have a slight Oedipal complex." As his father in the film had re-married to one of his class mates.

State lawmaker Ernie Chambers filed a lawsuit Friday against the Almighty -- acknowledging he/she goes by numerous aliases -- for causing "fearsome floods, egregious earthquakes, horrendous hurricanes, terrifying tornadoes, pestilential plagues" and other alliterative catastrophes.
The suit, Chambers vs God, asks the court for a "permanent injunction ordering defendant (God) to cease certain harmful activities and the making of terrorist threats" which affect innumerable persons, including Chambers's constituents.
It asserts that God is "the admitted perpetrator" of such acts and said that God's omnipresence gives the local Douglas County District Court jurisdiction in the suit, adding that God's omniscience eliminates the need to issue a formal notice of the lawsuit.
Chambers told local media he filed the suit to make a point about frivolous lawsuits frequently seen in US courts, citing a recent one against a judge.
He asked the court to award him an unspecified summary judgment against God, or, in the alternative, issue a permanent injunction against God engaging in the damaging acts cited in the filing.
Neither God nor his/her spokespersons could be contacted for comment.

To clear any confusion, I was asking a rhetorical question to everyone on the forum whether or not appearing in public like that with one's wife is something which doesn't look right. Maybe I am missing the point here, but where exactly is the confusion, and why did you mind me quoting you?

But for all we know, that could be a private pool, and that could be her brother and his kids beside her. Alternatively, she may be their mother, and those are her sons (the two men look similar) and grandchildren around her?

Today I ran into this question on a q&a session on one of the Islamic websites.
Submitted by the name 'Aisha' but apparently the questioner is a kafirah.
A Muslim student in my class, after reprimanding him for not doing his homework, said to me, "leave me alone, kafir". I went on the internet and tried different spelling for the word and found out that it means "infidel". I thought about it and said, "am I truly infidel?" Is this the way you teach your children to speak to their care givers?

So the person who answered the question included this in his answer:
Your story reminds me of another story I heard from a friend of mine from California. A non-Muslim boy asked his Muslim friend if he could play with him, and the Muslim boy said: "You are kafir, but anyway I am gonna play with you!!"

Lol mashaAllah looks like some parents in the west teach their children to differentiate between Muslims and kafirs.

I am afraid I am too Westernized to see what it is funny about being harassed by someone using a dangerous predator animal and why everybody is laughing. In my country in that situation (mentally replace the lioness w/ a pitbull) people would just pull out Makarov and shoot the animal.

I understand brother, the humour surely varies due to cultural differences and I know what you mean because for example, I hear Americans at work "crack jokes" yet most of it is not funny to me.

I guess coming from Bosnia, we laugh at the most horrible things, we laugh at slapping one another jokingly, scaring one another to death etc. I know it shouldn't be done when it causes harm or makes the other upset, but most of the time we don't get upset and everyone laughs, even the "victim". Don't know about arab culture, but yeah, we Bosnians are weird like that.

There is nothing funny about this picture. A brother does his Wudhu - which is an act of worship and another brother interrupts him. I would give that brother a good beating on his back, so he will remember next time not to mess with worshipping Muslims.

Something i saw many years ago and to this day it makes me chuckle.

At my doctors surgery they had a telephone that you could use to get a lift or call a taxi but then after a while there was a sign that read
'Due to some people calling abroad the telephone is no longer available'

I asked the receptionist who told me that they had received the bill and some people had called Pakistan DIRECT from the phone!

I thought it was meant to be a joke - but it was played very straight, and then other people seemed to be unsure how they were meant to take it too.

Has it been deliberatly mistranslated? I really don't know.
