I assure you this is my last post on my recent work problems at a Powergen call centre.

Now please read this...

I'll keep it brief. About 2 weeks ago, I called Powergen to discuss my Dad's account with them, it's for gas/elec. After I left the company, I felt the need to have the last word.

So I deliberately called Powergen, pretended to be happy with the service I got, asked the person I spoke with if I could email her and her colleagues with some advice, about how to maintain good customer service, to which she agreed.

I know this is childish but I needed to have the final word!

Here's the email I sent to her and my ex-colleagues/enemies: (I personally think it is hilarious, I sent it to 25 people in total). The subject of the email was 'Customer thank you for Elisabeth'.

Dear Elisabeth,

Calling on behalf of my Dad today, I had serious concerns about his account. But I can honestly say I am now relieved, thanks to your outstanding customer service skills.

You obtained DPA efficiently, explained how the bill was based on actual readings and you were very kind in agreeing to let me provide you and your colleagues with some feedback as regards how Powergen can continue to keep their customers, like ourselves, very happy.

My ex-colleagues could benefit from your example, to go that extra mile for the customer. As a customer and ex-employee of the company I felt you deserve recognition for the good work you've done today.

As her manager Greg, you should be proud of Elisabeth! Well done! Lastly, the good news is I have been offered a job teaching English at a public school in South Korea. It starts in May

Working only mon-fri 9-5, no weekends, airfare paid both ways, and I'll get a higher salary than my last job. Isn't life terrific?!!!

If I need help with our customer account, I'll call you while I'm in South Korea, probably while I'm on the beach.

Thank you for your time and help Elisabeth. She prevented a potential energywatch complaint there! Life is so tough, sitting around watching World Cup Cricket, day after day after.....

Heartfelt warmth,
