"Those rejoicing in today’s unjust verdict must also not forget that a true believer is less concerned about imprisonment since he already considers himself imprisoned in this world. No matter how enormous this world may seem, a true believer still considers himself incarcerated and follows the commands of his Lord alone. Only those who are short sighted and do not understand the reality of this temporary life see this world as a place where they are not sanctioned by any commands from their Creator."

Subhanallah, this is so true and gives us a clearer perspective and hope in facing our trials.

As Muslims - we do not raise the level of any human being except that which Allah and His Rasul have informed us about.

The Sibgha of Allah (azza wa jal) manifests itself by trials and tribulations that decend on those more close to Him.******* The Sheikh was and insha Allah continues to be an asset for the Ummah - no matter where he spends his life.

"...Imprisonment for me is a religious retreat..."

I request all brothers & sisters to please make sincere dua for the Sheikh and his Family and to deliver them all from that which seems most unjust and bring joy to them and to all oppressed muslims in there trying times insha Allah a'meen.

THe article was inspiring. It humbled and informed us how 'sabr' could be as much as powerful tool as any weapon. But i also find that the authors intrepretation of fate, trying to imply that one shouldnt resist the oppression rather submit to that since it was pre-destined. Possibly i could be wrong, may be i have misunderstood.Pls do correct me.

But for now, i presume i am right. Muslims general idea of fate and predestination refers only after the incident takes place. Even though west call it as a 'fatalism', it is not. Since fatalism is resting all our efforts, considering that it as not useful. Islam's idea of fate/predestination is to reassure men of the worse conflict and help compose himself.

We dont see men claiming it is predestined when we are in exciting and joyful mood. Even though it is predestined. So islam's predestination can be used only in reference to past and not in terms of future.

In this specific case of Ali at tamimi, if he didnt resisted the oppression carried out on him, before the calamity(life imprisonment) fell on him, claiming it was pre destined, it is fatalism and not from islam.

Alhamdulillah i am sure, he would have doen all his best to stand by and attest the one and only truth that ALLAH is the lord of the universe.

Through his divine name’s and attributes we will further call on Him . We will come out shinning like the sun we will ask Allaah to strengthen him and us for what has befallen him is surely coming our way. If indeed we are Believers then it is inevitable that Allaah may he be praised will test us according to our word may Allaah make us stead fast and plant our feet firm******* Ameen.*******

Well, the article was written after the verdict, so the article is in fact in reference to what happened in the past and not the future eventhough what is going to happen in the future is written which does not mean that one does not take any appropriate means. We still have to struggle like Sheikh Ali did for his trail and results are with Allah alone. I do not see the any incorrect implication of Qadr in the article.

JazakumAllahu Khair

May Allah Reward Sheikh Ali for his Istiqama

May the peace and blessings of Allah the All-Mighty be with my dear brother Mohammed Ali Al Timimi. What a great slave of Allah he was viewed by Muslims even the people who have not seen him are shedding tears for my brothers life imprisisonment. I just wish to say one last statement regarding the departure of my beloved brother that this is a warning to us by Allah to fear him as he who is above the heavens alone created you for his worship, so worship him alone and do not associate partners and make abundant du'a for the brother of this ummah Mohammed Ali Al Timimi.*******
