As-salamu alaykum. Can the knowledgeable brothers such as Abuz Zubair please explain if there is a difference between these terms. I heard a talk by Abdur Rahman Dimashki in which he says not so why do HT cult members say there are 2 types of tasdeeq (jazim and something else which escapes me) and how do we understand this correctly? Jazakallah khayr.

As-Salaamu ‘alaikum…

This is a very old argument.

Tasdeeq means to believe in something. Iman means to have faith, by having Tasdeeq AND acting upon it.

These HTs during Bakri days would say that they have Tasdeeq in Khabr al-Ahab, but not Iman, and this is mutually contradictory and irrational, while ration is the crux of their beliefs.

After they expelled Bakri, they said that they actually believe in Khabr al-Ahab etc, but they simply don’t accept it in Aqeedah. Again, this is also mutually contradictory, for if you believe in something, it is your Aqeeda, because Belief is the English rendition of Aqeedah.

Frankly, when arguments become this silly, and becomes worthless speaking with anyone, because they are better off seeing some psychiatrist rather than a theologian.

Walaykum salam. Jazakallah khayr. Nowadays HTites talk about "tasdeeq jazim" and another type of tasdeeq******* (can't recall the name). What's the deal here? Are there 2 levels of tasdeeq and, if so, how do we understand them. By the way, I am a psychiatrist so maybe these Moonies of Islam are talking to the right person!
