Assalamu Alaikum,
Can anyone explain to me why Sh Ibn Baaz, signed that fatwa during the Gulf war that allowed the British and American troops into the holy land which resulted in a lot of Muslims being killed by them during desert storm. As i have never been able to find a good Salafi explanation to that.
I once heard by a Salafi dai on tape that he did it beause if he never Saddam Hussain would've made his base there and it was a better option.
but it is because of Sh Ibn Baaz'z fatwa that the the the Dajjal has been able to make its permanent base in the holy land. It is because of that fatwa that we have this catostrophe today.
Sh Faisal gave the verdict that that fatwa took the Shaikh outside the fold of Islam and he died as a crusader.
(Although I have respect for Sh Ibn Baaz.)

wassalamu 'aleikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatu

i heard that*******sheikh faisal*******later*******changed his verdect on the sheikh and stopped making takfir on him.

may allah release him quickly and safely for the benefit of the ummah, amin.

may allah forgive sheikh bin baz for he has damaged the ummah of muhammad (saw) with that fatwa but no man has ever put foot on this*******earth being infallible exept the anbiyaa and the mursaleen salawatu wa salamullahi 'aleihum ajma'een.

i'm afraid that in history he will always be remembered for that fatwa and becouse of the harm and soffering that it brought, he will never hold the position someone of his knowledge could have.

That fatwa by him is like dirty cloth on*******a clean person, no matter how clean he will always be judged by the dirty cloths.

may allah forgive him and give us the ability to revert what happened and drive out the jews and the christians and the faggots and the lesbians and the pidophiles and the rapists and the devils from the holiest land ALLAH has created on this earth wich is ment only for the believers.

Wal Izzatu liLLAHI wa Rasulihi (saw) wal Mu'mineen

Salaam,
Sh Faisal never changed his verdict at all as I discussed with him 1 month before he got arrested in 2002 and he was argueing with methe fact that Sh ibn Baaz. was asked if you're allowed to have a kafir maid in your house, and he said no, because shes kafir, so if he ruled that you cant have a kafir maid in your house, how on the earth from his logic was he able to rule that you can have a kafir army in Muslim land? is the same principle..
Apparently they say, the shcolars are on payroll, and therssonly certain things they can say if they want their money-thats sounds very apt to me.
Hence the phrase was coiled about them "Scholars for dollars".
And with Allah is the tawfiq.

assalamu 'aleikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatu

my dear brother

there are such scholars that are on "payroll" *******and it's not a strange think for rasulullahi salla ALLAHU 'alihi wasallam warned us to "beware of the scholar at the gate of the ruler"

Weather ibn baz was one of them i can't say but nevertheless there still are a lot of the so called "scholars for dollars"

and ALLAH knows best who they are

what is rarely mentioned is that al-saud had a military pact with US which had been agreed long before the gulf war.

it stipulated that in the event of or percieved threat of invasion then the RDF (rapid deployment force) would intervene.

this was intended to protect western interests against the soviet plan to conquer pakistan and then the oil rich gulf but it never got past afghanistan!

so wether or not shaykh bin baaz passed the fatwa it would not have made a difference since it was agreed that the lead element of the RDF the 'ready brigade' of the 82nd airborne would take up combat positions a week before the fatwa was issued. the 82nd can deploy anywhere in the world within 24 hours and such they didnt need to wait around for a 'fatwa' they had something better, a military pact by royal decree!

the 'fatwa' was actually paraphrased from UN resolution 678, the interior ministry of KSA saw to it that bin baaz*******toed the line and give the first gulf war his 'blessing' !*******

there appears to be 'three schools of thought' regarding sheikh bin baaz:

1. loyal followers whose loyalty is beyond belief! they have gone to such extremes that they have become that which they discourage others from - blind following. not only is it taqleed of the worst kind but hypocrisy dressed in its sunday best!

2. those who disassociate or disown him on account of the 'fatwa' and the alleged fatwa declaring mujahideen (arab afghan veterans) as shayateen*******in cassette 11 at 'at-tawiyyatul islamiyah in 1987 and declaring them khawarij on several occassions as claimed by his followers.

3. 'takfiris' with regard to bin baaz, who declared him an apostate due to his closeness and favour with the late king fahd. they hold him directly responsible for validating the*******occupation of the peninsula. they maintain that bin baaz was influential enough to prevent the occupation but instead endorsed it. also they claim that his fatwas (allegations of kharijism) led to the unlawful oppression and killing of former mujahideen and their sympathisers - wether they be family or laymen or scholars or students of knowledge.
