is there any information from ulama on current affairs besides that which salafipubs and fatwa-online.com give?

Wa Alaykum as-Salaam,
I don't know of any sites dealing with the perspective of 'ulama on current affairs, but I do believe the brothers at the ITS (the only true Islamic organization in America I know about) do a superb job of tackling such issues from a firm Islamic perspective, masha'Allah....

Check out their 'News from the Ummah' and 'Current Affairs' section. There are also specialist websites devoted to certain areas of the Ummah, but unfortunately we need a comprehensive one which is general and tackles all the pressing issues of the Ummah.

yes they call shaykh saalih al fawzaan hafidullah a dog. May Allaah give shaykh salih al fawzaan their good deeds ameen.
Also they call shaykh rabee ibn hadee al madkhali a dog (though i may not agree with everything he says im still a jahil while he is an alim)

It used to be....Those brothers had a disagreement with Omar Bakri, and split up from that group. Rather, these are sincere and eager brothers in the Queens borough, New York, who rely on their own efforts and have no connection with any other groups. They put many other American Muslims to shame, with their willingness to stand up for their principles, albeit in a calm, intellectual manner. They should be commended for this, not criticized for former links with a group they are no longer connected to.

They are a little too eager when it comes to some mistakes of the scholars. I am completely with you when it comes to Shaykh Salih al-Fawzaan (hafidahullah), but Rabee al-Madkhalee on the other hand, has done much harm for the Ummah and his mannerisms exhibit nothing of the scholarly etiquette. Nevertheless, none of this should take away from the beneficial information the website contains and the courageous stance these brothers exhibit. And Allah (Subhanahu wa-Ta'ala) knows best.

Their attitude about the scholars is enough for us not to refer to them. In that sense, it doesn't really matter what terms they are on with OBM

lol your comments make me laugh, Akh Abu Zubair,
yes they ITS should seek advice and knowlege from the scholars, not be eager in labelling them for mistakes or differences that do not appease to them.

they need to live up to their namesake by adopting a more journalistic approach to current affairs..
