As-Salâm 'alaykum wa rahmatullâh wa barakâtuhu wa iyâk
I have this book and it say's the following quite explicitly on page 2:
No part of this Publication from Tarbiyyah Bookstore Publishing & Distribution may be reproduced in any form, whether it is through electronic means, mechanical means or other than that. Again, no part of this publication may be changed by any means possible without the explicit written approval of Tarbiyyah Bookstore Publishing & Distribution. (emphasis added)

Maybe it could be a good issue to debate and discuss. However I just want to make 2 points.
The book by Shaykh Uthaymeen is very good. However have the translators sought permission from the Islamic Publishers who printed it orginally in Arabic to start off with.
Secondly, this particlar company is known for also printing books by Ubaykaan, who is a evil man (Refer to his Interviews with Arabic newspapers). Maybe by distributing these Aqeedah books by PDF, it will lead to the closure of these publishers. I could be right or wrong, Allah knows best.

abu_ibrahim, most of the arabic books i've come accross that are available online and many others that are printed in saudi, say that all rights are preserved FOR MUSLIMS, and that if anyone wishes they can translate it to another language, provided nothing is changed, altered etc. now i don't know which version of the summary of aqeedah at-tahawiyyah did tarbiyyahbookstore use, whether it was an online one or an actual book published from somewhere, but for what i know their likes (sp's/troid) are strict with copyrights, so they may have sought permission. wallaahu a'lam.

I am well aware of this since I have the book, and due to it being my property, I have the right (Islaamically) to do with it as I please.
Keep in mind that not everyone can afford to buy books or join classes, so whatever we have we should share it with others inshAllaah.

did they get ijazah from Shaykul-Islaam(rahimahullah) to copyright the text of his book (which is explained)? No! So i guess they will have to tolerate those who don't adhere to "copyright" and "intellectual property" rights as being legtiamtley Islamic.

Yep indeed it goes like this also for the works of the muhadithoon and fuqaha, but I suppose they are exempt from ijazah right?

Although, I myself might not be a strong believer in the modern capitalist concept of 'copyrights' or 'intellectual property', but knowing that there are scholars who believe in such rights, I would still incline to respect a brother's 'right'.
