Generally they mean the same thing, but معدوم has a deeper meaning of 'non-existent' whereas غير موجود just means that something is not present (it may exist, but it's not present). I tried to look in lisaan al-Arab, but I'm rushed for time at the moment, will try to get back to you on it inshaa'Allaah

I think you meant: 'not present here', not that 'not present anywhere'?
As far as I understand ghayr mawjud is actually ma'dum, right?

Mawjood means 'to be present'/to exist
Ibn imam, unfortunately I wasn't able to find anything in Lisaan al-'Arab that will help you in your research specifically (there are details on different usages of the 2 terms) - but generally معدوم and غير موجود mean the same thing. Was there any reason in particular that you wanted to know the difference? If anyone else can chip in with info, then that'll be great.
