View Full Version : "...Worry about your own self!"

'Abdullah bin Mas'ud reported that the Messenger of Allah said:
"Verily, the most beloved speech to Allah is the servant's saying: "Glorified are You, O Allah, and to You is the praise, and Blessed is Your Name, and Lofty is Your Majesty, and there is none worthy of worship other than You." [Subhanak Allahumma wa bihamdik wa tabarak asmuk wa ta'ala jadduk wa la ilaha ghayruk]
The most hated speech to Allah is when a man says to another man: "Fear Allah!" and he replies: "Worry about your own self!""

Aaslaamu Aalikium Wa Rahamatuh Allahi Wa Barakatuh,
Baarak Allahu feek Akhee, but for the second part of that hadeeth, if one would want to translate it into 3araby would this be the correct way?[my fluency in fu-ha arabic is very weak, so anyone please correct me insha'allah:]
In akther kooroohyen 3einda'Allah, 3eindama rajoolan yaqool ila akhera rajoolen, "Khaaf Allah" wa yejeb howa "hem howlaka khasato nafsy" or "hem laka khasato nafsek"?
Jazaakum Allahu Khairn.

'Alaykum as-Salam wa Rahmatullah wa Barakatuh;
Here's the last part of the hadith in Arabic:
و إن أبغض الكلام إلى الله أن يقول الرجل للرجل: اتق الله, فيقول: عليك بنفسك
(Wa inna abghad al-kalam ila Allah an yaqul ar-rajul lir-rajul: ittaqil-Lah, fa yaqul: 'alayka bi nafsik)

Abu Sabaayaa, do you have anything more in this regard? I mean I love this Hadith and tend to read it often but I need more bits in this regard.
