"..When they eventually got me in, turned the lights on and opened the tent flaps, I walked out, and for one brief moment - to the crew spread out across the desert in front of me - I truly was a god.."
Does anyone else have any other examples of modern day "idols"....?

I remember in the movie "Titanic", there was one part just before the ship left port where these guys were talking about how strong the Titanic is, and one of them said: "Even God Himself could not sink this ship!" (Astaghfirullah).
Although it might be said that it was only a line in a movie, however remember that the movie Titanic was based on real events. When I saw that part, I couldn't help but feel that maybe someone really did say this in real life, and it became famous and they put it in the movie.
Anyway, if they really did say it, look how they ended up! Allahul-musta'an.

Good thread to see how these ignorant people use their limited mind to ascribe human attributes to God. Alhamdulillah, Islam is complete and the message is simple and clear. It is the Great Mercy of Allah to tell His Creation about Himself, His attributes of Perfection with no deficiency in anyway what so ever and His beautiful names.

Another hurricane, perhaps located above and around the homes of some of these cretins, would be grand. As someone who feels that such a thing as a hurricane plowing its way up the Mississippi river ought to remind us all of just how much we have in common, as little mammals scurrying out of the way of one of Mother Nature's awesome tantrums, I think that the Cretin Corner over in Limbaugh-land needs to grow up. As one who is wondering how many homes and lives have been destroyed by the storm, I can't help but wonder as to the basic character the Cretin Corner occupants personally have.

Here's one from Yasmin Alibhai-Brown (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yasmin_Alibhai_Brown) an alleged Muslim commentator writing in the Independent:
"I have grown to love this country and I would not now willingly leave it, but I do thank the gods I wasn't born and brought up here." (20th May 2002) [source] (http://comment.independent.co.uk/columnists_a_l/yasmin_alibhai_brown/article189040.ece)
Note: I posted this ages ago but I figured no-one will remember, so I did it again.

I wasn't born and brought up here.
May be this explains her being whiter than white.

She is just another one like Ayan Hirsi Ali and Irshad Manji (or whatever her name is). Her name "Alibhai-Brown" also indicates that she may be married to a british kafir, which wouldn't surprise me at all.

Yes she is, plus she's an Ismaili too.

Well if she's an Isma'ili, then none of the rest comes as any surprise.

Yasmin Alibhai-Brown MBE (born Yasmin Damji on 10 December 1949) is a Uganda-born journalist, based in London; she only hyphenated her surname after her second marriage in 1990 to a Christian man.
Alibhai-Brown often refers to her experience as a member of an ethnic minority (though she dislikes that term) as well as being Muslim, even though some Muslim schools of thought do not regard Alibhai-Brown's Ismaili Sect as being Muslim.
Alibhai-Brown is criticised from both sides. Many Muslims regard her as treacherous because she criticises Islam, calling for the hijab to be banned and supporting homosexuality. Some of these critics respond by saying she is not a Muslim at all, because she is Ismaili, the second largest Shī‘a group after the Twelvers.
