Assalam o Alaikum wa Rahmatullah wa Barakaatuh,

I hope my post finds you in the best of Iman and Health!

I am Kamran, a Mechanical Engineer from Lahore, Pakistan.

I come from Ahl Hadith background and have had many blunderous misadventures over here in the past when I was obsessed with the typical Hanafi/Ahl Hadith fiqh debates/refutations.

Allah showed me the light some 4 years ago when after attending lessons of some good scholars and after reading the works of some others, I came to know the difference between the primary and secondary matters and I can say that Alhamdulillah, I am less imbalanced now. This is not to say that I stopped being Ahl Hadith or that I became Hanafi etc. (although some of the Ahl Hadith youth have issued the ruling that I have left Ahl Hadith and some even declared me to be a heretic).

Also, I am just a simpleton who gets up and tries to live his life like a Muslim. I am no scholar and in fact, not even a student of knowledge so to say. And I hope that I would be welcomed and tolerated.

Anyway, enough of shameless self-promotion!

Kamran

wa'alaikum as-salaam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,

Welcome aboard. Although I would say this is not the best place to tell others who or what you are.

There is nothing wrong with introducing yourself to the crowd.

What is wrong is to introduce yourself in a boastful manner, which often not only includes exaggerations, but outright lies. In a way in which you know how quickly people would be mesmerised by your false claims and take you as a reference point on Hanbali madhab, for instance, isn't it Abu Wakee?

Besides, exposing your good qualities to the public isn't exactly the behaviour of a humble Muslim who has an ounce of understanding of ikhlas.

Sure. If you say so.
