Assalaam'ualykum,
We of then talk about the asharites but forget about the matureedis, who are tehse people and does this sect still exist, of course it exists in name, but is it nothing more then a name?
If you look at many hanafees, e.g south africa, india, I don't know whether they are taught there own aqeedah let alone the topic of Allah's anmes and attributes....
So whats the deal with them?
And do salafee scholars do unity events and say words of gratification for any ulema in india, etc i.e amongst the hanafees?
Who are the knowledgeable hanafees today? apart from taqi usmani
Are there any salafi hanafiis?

The vast majority of Hanafis in the subcontinent, turkey and central asia are "officially" maturidis. The deobandi and barelwi scholars always affirm this in their books and writings. This includes the south africa hanafis, who are very staunch in attributing themselves to the maturidi 'aqidah.
In fact, for centuries, the term "hanafi" was generally synonymous with "maturidi".
As for how they differ from the salafis, remember that although the hanafis are generally maturidi, not all of them necessarily understand everything the same way, so you might find some who are closer to the 'aqidah of the salaf than others. And as for the average hanafi layman, he wouldn't have a clue about what is maturidi or ash'ari or whatever. usually he will just believe according to his fitrah and the dhahir of the Qur'an. All these issues of complex theological questions of the maturidis and ash'aris are simply way above his level of understanding. so (perhaps ironically) we might say that the vast majority of laymen hanafis are actually generally salafi in their 'aqidah in terms of al-asma' was-sifat etc., and not maturidi or ash'ari - whether they realise it or not.
This is only my personal observation from dealing with hanafi laymen myself, and talking to them about these kind of issues.

Well I gathered that.
Some of the those wierd theological innuendos they come up with, one will not expect any normal muslim to hold.
Than you got some layman muslim who Just follow what the Imam say's, so you might find act of bida, but not really on aqidah.
My ethnicity is from from the subcontinent (one of the country). I can tell you ask any asian on the street what is maturidis they would not know, or ask them simple aqidah question.
