I have a long term plan of migrating to a muslim country. I'm just wondering what the best country that we can study Islam based on authentic Quran and Sunnah based on the understanding of the Salaf.

I have a few friends here moving to Egypt and they say there are a lot of different places there some that give Ijazah, some doesn't. I'm not looking for Ijazah, just to increase my knowledge of the Deen.

As salamu alaykum akhi,

The first thing you should know is that I do not know of ANY Muslim country who will give permanent residency/citizenship to a foreign national from the west.

You can, after many many years of working in a muslim country or running a business, perhaps get something arranged, but to get residency/citizenship from the get go...? No way to my knowledge.

Second thing, there are no whole countries that practice Islam perfectly, but there are areas and towns and villages and cities and states where you can find the basics of Islam being adhered to in numerous countries.

Thirdly, and MOST importantly, I would advise you to actually travel to the land you have chosen [ when you choose ] and go live there for a year and THEN decide about hijrah, if they will allow you to that even.

Many brothers convert to Islam and think that all Muslims in all the Muslim countries love Islam and practice Islam.

Then without planning, they naively sell their possessions and give up their jobs etc and go to a muslim country with the intention of hijrah.

99% of them end up back in their original countries with a couple of years if not sooner, in a worse state than when they left...!

The other 1% get free flights from the CIA and end up in orange track suits in Cuba for the next five years.

I do not want to sound like a pessimist, rather I would LOVE Allah to make Hijrah easy for every Muslim who desires it, but rather I am a realist who does NOT want another Muslim to learn the hard way.

Be pragmatic in your hijrah efforts, do your research, go and actually live in the land you have chosen for a year or 6 months minimum, then be cautious with your money { how many brothers buy land they can never use or get conned...! }.

Wallahu Masta'aan.

Jazakallah Kheir Brother ykhan

I don't need to work in those countries, just to study. Do we need to have a PR to study? With fast broadband access, Insya' Allah I can work from home to support myself.

It is sad that we cannot find a "real" muslim country, but the environment I'm sure have less fitnah than the west. Locally here Alhamduillilah we have halaqah every week and it's very beneficial, but I don't think it's sufficient.

Akhi, I think you have misunderstood me.

The first thing any Muslim country officials are going to ask you about is $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Yes, money is the bottom line.

They already have millions of poor, homeless, starving Muslims who can't support themselves in their countries so they don't want any more.

The first issue with any muslim country is money, i.e how are you going to support yourself and your family??

Therefore you either need a 100 k in the bank statement to show them or you need a job letter invite or forget it. "I can work from home on a pc" just ain't gonna cut it with them, but if you prove me wrong I would like to hear the details of how you did it insha'Allah.

To stay in a foreign country you need either a "work"/"business" visa or a "student" visa or to be married to a ministers daughter [ ha ha ].

And if you tell them I just want to study, usually the only way to get a "student" visa is to be enrolled at a government approved institute.

I am just letting you know the reality akhi, that is all.

Jazakallah Kheir for telling me the reality. I'm not doubting what you said, but Insya' Allah as far as the $$$ goes, I think I'm okay, I can proof to them that I will not be a burden to the country. If need be, I may try to get a "business" visa to do business there.
