Asalamualaykum,

Does anyone else do this?

Today I didnt feel sleepy so I stayed awake and now I feel tired but there is only about 20 mins left for fajr so I will pray and then go to bed.

I know I should pray in jamat but jamat aint for another hour and a half and I dont think I can wait or else I might fall asleep and end up waking up late.

This happens to me sometimes in the summer months when Isha is late and Fajr is early, but Im just wondering if my reward will be less because I wont be getting up for prayer.

Anyway Ill speak to y'all in the morning or should I say later on lol.

What an interesting thread to start dear brother... the same happens to me regularly, often I stay up between Isha and Fajr then do Fajr at the start time then sleep, it's also better for my health in regards to having to go to work and thus having just about enough sleep to sustain my brain lol

I'm also another brother who does this...staying up until Fajr. I usually tell people that "I'm fajr-ing it tonight."

I do the same sometimes particularly where the jamaat at the masjid begins at about 0415 by which time its virtually daylight. But it does bother me as I feel I am somehow "cheating" by not sleeping, ie missing the struggle to leave my bed.

i sleep after praying fajr because if i sleep before am not able to get up for fajr,
it's hard because i go to two different universities so once am on bed, i can't get up till ive slept enough..i hope Allah accepts my prayers.

Salaam, Guys get an alarm clock. If you can get up to go to work, or put yourkids to school every morning than you should be ok.

Make a regular habit than it becomes easier.

It's Sunnah to sleep right before Fajr and it is Sunnah to stay up after Fajr until sunrise and then pray raka'atain.

All in the mosque. Been trying to do that, but my closest masjid is completely random. I didn't even know where it was until a week ago and I've been to fajar there twice and guess what...I DON'T THINK THEY HAVE FAJR THERE. I mean fajr time starts here at 4:30 and once I was at the mosque by 5 and the whole place was locked so I thought maybe I'm late. Next day I'm there by 4:45 and the whole place is locked again. Inshallah I'll leave in 10 mins and get there by 4:35 today and if there's no one there, I can only assume that no one prays fajr in the mosque.

Which is horrible!

Ma shaa'a Allah. May Allah count all your attempts to pray Jamaat Salah at the masjid and give a full reward for them.

Is it by any chance a Hanafi masjid? As they don't tend to have Fajr in Jamat as fajr time starts but towards the end of fajr time..?

It's confirmed. No one even opens the mosque for Fajr, not even the Imaam. I had to squeeze through bars around the side to get in and lead my own Jama'ah...of Jinns (maybe) lol.

Du'a for waking up in time before falling (scratch that, plunging down) asleep during the day helps. Experimentally verified :-). I woke up several times 5 min before 'Iqama.

Without doubt, Muslim Jinns are joining you at this early hour. JAK
