Declare War on the Shaytan

Declare War on the Shaytan!!!!

I want to first start off with asking a question. Would anyone of you allow anyone to hit you in the face in your strongest or weakest moment? Would anyone one of you allow anyone to steal from you? And finally, would anyone of you allow anyone to ruin you and to openly declare war upon you and not fight back?

I'm asking these questions to show you something. Allah s.w.t says…

O men! Eat the lawful and good things out of what is in the earth, and do not follow the footsteps of the Shaitan; surely he is your open enemy. (Holy Quran 2:168)

O you who believe! Enter into submission one and all and do not follow the footsteps of Shaitan; surely he is your open enemy. (Holy Quran 2:208)

Then he caused them to fall by deceit; so when they tasted of the tree, their evil inclinations became manifest to them, and they both began to cover themselves with the leaves of the garden; and their Lord called out to them: Did I not forbid you both from that tree and say to you that the Shaitan is your open enemy? (Holy Quran 7:22)

He said: O my son! Do not relate your vision to your brothers, lest they devise a plan against you; surely the Shaitan is an open enemy to man. (Holy Quran 12:5)

And say to my servants (that) they speak that which is best; surely the Shaitan sows dissensions among them; surely the Shaitan is an open enemy to man. (Holy Quran 17:53)

Surely the Shaitan is your enemy, so take him for an enemy; he only invites his party that they may be inmates of the burning (Holy Quran 35:6)

Did I not charge you, O children of Adam! That you should not serve the Shaitan? Surely he is your open enemy, (Holy Quran 36:60)

The Shaytan has openly declared war on us. He says he will ruin us and attempt to lead us in a direction of falsehood and destruction. I asked those questions in the first part to see your reaction. You will let someone hurt you and not get up to fight back? What if you saw your brother, sister, mother, friend, or wife getting attacked? You will most certainly do something to defend them. But the beating the experience in this life pales in comparison to the one they will receive in the next life. What I mean to say is that they will be covered in blood and bruises if they are attacked. But in the hereafter they will suffer eternally, as the shaytan appealed to them in this life.

The Shaytan slowly creeps in to deceive us. Sometimes there is a direct obvious attack or a slow drawn out attack that affects you much later in life. Either way, we are being attacked and have to fight back. The Shaytan attacks us in many ways. He attacks by making our bad deeds or bad things we do fair seeming. So it is nothing in our minds as we do the bad deed or talk badly to another Muslim, etc. He attacks by pride, laziness, jealousy, envy, and a lot of things that take us away from the remembrance of Allah s.w.t. We must fight all of these things that he attacks us with. I'm talking about right when the whisper hits you seek refuge with Allah s.w.t and fight yourself and your desire.

If someone hit you in your face will you wait to attack back? No, you will fight back immediately and hold hatred in your heart for him or her cause he attacked you in the first place. The Shaytan attacks daily. And we must fight daily. We must fight minute for minute and day by day to repel those attacks from the shaytan the enemy of mankind. He will disassociate himself from us on the Day of Judgment. He will say that he only whispered yet we followed him. Allah says…

And if a false imputation from the Shaitan afflicts you, seek refuge in Allah; surely He is Hearing, Knowing. Surely those who guard (against evil), when a visitation from the Shaitan afflicts them they become mindful, then lo! They see. (Holy Quran 7:200,201)

See how we fight it? When we are visited we fight immediately. Why would we not fight? Ask yourself why you wouldn't fight someone that his sole purpose is to mislead you and take you to a fire that is blazing hot for eternity. Allah says…

So when you recite the Quran, seek refuge with Allah from the accursed Shaitan, Surely he has no authority over those who believe and rely on their Lord. His authority is only over those who befriend him and those who associate others with Him. (Holy Quran 16:98-100)

He has authority over the ones that follow his whispers only! But Allah says that he has no power over the ones that put their complete trust in Allah s.w.t. Amazing why we let this happen to us daily as we destroy ourselves and our eternal position in the next life. We as the sons and daughters of Adam owe it to ourselves to get into the fight that the shaytan is giving us every minute and fight back.

Think of the worst enemy you have had in your life. When you came to know about his or her treachery and hatred towards you. What did you do? Did you listen to him or her? Did you follow their ways? No! Of course not! You fought him, you warned others about him and you avoided him like a disease. Does this make sense to you? We must do this with the shaytan and fight him as he fought us. We must disown him as he disowned us. We must warn others about his purpose to ruin us all. And we must avoid him and his plots, plans, whispers, and all the other tools that he throws at us till our death. We must be equally vigil when we see him affecting or attacking other Muslim brothers and sisters. We can learn how in these hadith's…

On the authority of Anas ibn Malik, it is noted that the Prophet (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) has said:

"None of you truly believes until he wishes for his brother what he wishes for himself, (al-Bukhari).

The Prophet (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) has said:

"If one of you defends the honour of his brother, Allah the Almighty, will keep the hellfire away from his face in the Hereafter." (Muslim).

The Prophet (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) has said: "those who help a Muslim in hardship in this world, will be protected by Allah from suffering hardship in the Hereafter....Allah will help his servants as long as they help their fellow Muslim brothers", (narrated by Muslim and Abu-Daud).

Insha Allah we will all get up,and get back in the war that is being fought against us from the shaytan. May Allah make us all successful and increase our fear in Allah and increase our Iman…. Ameen.
