Asalamualaikum

Your information on the history of this Bill is extremely enlightening. I was in doubt as to its benefit before, but am now convinced against it, as I think others would be if the wording and and background were to be made widely known. There should be some method of doing this other than internet. Perhaps write in to national newspapers.

Also, if you note the wording of the quoted passage referring to religious texts, the meaning is*******not that the texts should not be read out in a threatening manner. What is actually written is that those passages that could "stir up" religious hatred will not be recited in public AT ALL, in case they could be misused. That means that those passages are taboo and unutterable. Also, the eforcement agencies will have the "flexibility to ensure that these offences make a full contribution in combating hate-mogering in all its various forms and contexts." ! i.e., there is no fixed frame or criterion....it is at their discretion. Please, Muslims, do not fall into this trap.

From Granada I see no need for such a Law. Any community everywhere has at times to reconsider its values and standards, particularly against the light of religious expression, interpretation and necessary adjustments. The demise of Europe by its decadence from within is not to be blamed to Muslims... The lack of moral standards, ethics and factual compliance to the Human Rights charter of the UNO 1948 explains perfectly well what goes wrong here. Do we wish to be "America's Client Nation(s)" or do we persue our own objectives? Lack of future perspective and maintenance of a worn-out, well over 300 years old political system are the real culprits of the disaster that is taking place. Islam should not 'excuse itself', but offer and show vivid alternatives - not to unwilling politicians, but to the public, to the whole community!*******
