The man described in this article must indeed have been very brave and quite righteous to stand up against colonizers. </p>
Why is this article being presented here and now?******* </p>
Because it sounds to me like a call to arms, an invitation to go fight and kill.******* More propoganda.</p>
Please name one country that is presently undergoing this colonization by "the west" or "european nations."</p>
Name even one.</p>

Right, it's just been one big party over there and those most enjoyable holidays have been spent making sure that 47 countries were able to re-established their embassies in Iraq, that the new Iraqi government was stable enough to employ 1.2 million Iraqi people, that 3100 schools were renovated, 263 new schools have been built, that Iraq's NEW higher educational structure consists of 20 Universities, 46 Institutes and colleges and 4 research centers, and that these educational facilities are no longer open only to Hussein's elite.************** Likewise, 96% of Iraqi children under the age of 5 have received the first 2 series of polio vaccinations, 4.3 million Iraqi children were enrolled in primary school by mid October and 25 Iraq students departed for the United States in January 2004 for the re-established Fulbright program. </p>
Since everyday can't be a holiday, weekends have been spent helping Iraq develop a counter-terrorism unit and a Commando Battalion, the Iraqi Police Service consisting of 5 Police Academies in Iraq that produce over 3500 new officers each 8 weeks.******* It currently has over 55,000 fully trained and equipped police officers. (One of the more current targets of Muslim brotherly love, since the objective is to destroy progress in Iraq)******* During the week, there are more than 1100 building projects going on in Iraq that include 364 schools, 67 public clinics, 15 hospitals, 83 railroad stations, 22 oil facilities, 93 water facilities and 69 electrical facilities, serving 96% of the citizens of Iraq, many of whom never had fresh water or electricity before.******* Oh, and about that oil we're supposed to be stealing at the rate of $65 barrell... we're NOT. </p>
All that "colonization" has also helped Iraq develop an independent media that consist of 75 radio stations, 180 newspapers and 10 television stations and a Baghdad Stock Exchange that opened in June of 2004. </p>
Of course, you probably weren't aware of all that, because the Bush- hating media and Democratic Party here in the states and the anti-America Muslims across the globe don't want everyone to know that there are a LOT of good things happening in Iraq.******* They would rather see the world blow up than lose an ounce of power by admitting that we've done anything good.************** The lack of accentuating the positive in Iraq serves only one purpose; to undermine the world's perception of the United States and our troops, who in many cases aren't "rebuilding" Iraq, they're building it from scratch!</p>
Oh, one other thing our troops have spent all that holiday time on was making certain that the NEW Iraqi Navy is operational with 5- 100-foot patrol craft, 34 smaller vessels and a naval infantry regiment, that Iraq's Air Force consists of three operational squadrons,******* 9 reconnaissance and 3 US C-130 transport aircraft which operate day and night, and will soon add 16 UH-1 helicopters and 4 bell jet rangers? Now we get to wait and see which maniac Muslim will pull another bin Laden/Hussein and use that military force*******to stab us in the back again.******* </p>
Now, if you decide to go on the "now billions of innocent people have been killed" kick, forget that too. If you're really all that concerned about the innocent people of Iraq getting killed then STOP training your Muslim Army/terrorists/insurgents to use them as fodder and shields!!</p>

This claim of the United States causing the death of millions of Iraqi children thru past sanctions is very serious and should not be taken lightly.******* </p>
Although I believe that the number of deaths stated in the many posts and articles on this subject is wildly exaggerated, and although I believe that most of the blame should be placed on Saddam Hussein for selfishly rejecting "Oil for Food", I do feel remorse.******* Innocent children were the victims of this tragedy and the UN did have the power to find a better solution even if Saddam would not cooperate.</p>
Normally I reject your propoganda.******* But for this matter, I would like to offer all who read this my most sincere sympathy and apologies for any role that my government (United States) played in this tragedy.******* </p>

Christian Guest - I wouldn't be too quick to apologize. Yes it is horrible that so many children and infants died in Iraq but our government is not to blame for it.
As it may or may not come out after Saddam's trial, there were not nearly as many children died as he had reported to the UN and the world's media. Of those who did (somewhere around 65,000) nearly every one of them was ordered to be murdered by him to give the appearance of a country severely suffering under sanctions imposed by the UNSC (not just us). This was his way of pressuring the other countries and certain UN officials into making illegal deals under the table and getting those same countries to put pressure on us to agree to lift the sanctions. We both know all a low-life like Hussein has to say is "the children are suffering" and show some heart wrenching photo's of dead babies and a lot can be had. His problem was he didn't have any heart wrenching photos to show .. so he had to arrange them.
Several pediatricians risked their lives to defy his orders and unless they're murdered beforehand will testify in the coming months to some of the most horrendous crimes known to man since Hitler's regime, including the following:
*Children and infants who were brought to hospitals and clinics for minor illnesses were ordered to be kept there then murdered so that false evidence could be presented with claims that the sanctions were killing Iraqi children.
*Medicines that were made available through the Oil for Food program were available and stockpiled on shelves but he refused to allow physicians to give them to children.
*Food was also available but he refused to let children be fed so that they would die the horrible death of starvation.
*After murdering anyone he thought to be his enemy the children of these enemies were then used as test dummies for things like mustard and sarin gas and a lot of other nasty stuff he had hoped to produce in large enough quantities so he could use them on the next country he declared war on, which could well have been us if we'd not gone there first.
You may recall that there were a LOT of children in the Abu Ghraib prison when our troops first arrived there. Then again, the anti-Bush media has been so vocused on the mistreatment of a few men since then, so they forgot to mention that many of the children who were freed from that prison by our troops were most likely destined to become the next volley in the claim of victim status regarding the sanctions.
This mad man murdered tens of thousands of innocent children in his own country and these people have the gall to claim that our government tried to make them look bad by killing 3,000 of our people on 9/11. And they whine about us going in and putting a stop to his madness.

Child of God</p>
I realize that my apology plays right in to the hands of the propogandists on this site and weighed this carefully before my post.******* Like I stated, in agreement with your more detailed post, I mostly blame Saddam (and some corrupt members of the UN who will hopefully be brought to justice) for the tragedy.******* </p>
However, the victims were still innocent children.******* I do not even pretend to know what the solution would have been.******* Perhaps a complete overthrow of Saddam's regeme 14 years ago would have been the only way to avoid the tragedy.******* I just don't know.</p>
But the very unfortunate fact still remains, innocent children were the victims.************** And they died as a result of the meddlings of politicians.******* Someone should have made sure.******* In a way, Saddam used them as hostages.**************If I was a*******the negotiator to a kidnapper who threatened to kill his hostages, and the hostages died because I didn't*******bend to his demands, I would be apologizing to the families of the victims the same way.******* *******Even if the blame goes 99% to Saddam, I still feel that the 1% deserves our respect, compassion and an apology.**************</p>

I understand what you're saying. I guess I just see it differently, because I know what these children really mean to them. For instance, the Arab countries that surround Iraq knew what was going on and were in a better position to stop than we were and they did nothing because in their eyes those children were nothing but fodder for their common cause, just as the children these oh so brave mujahideen hide behind or send into busy cities in cars loaded with bombs.
Beyond all the atrocities Saddam Insane committed regarding his stockpiling of dead babies to show the UN he was also making illegal deals for weapons that cost his country millions, gave nearly $900 million to the Arab/Palestinians to use in their war against Israel and spent more than $2 BILLION building himself more than 48 new palaces.. all the while claiming a million children had died because he couldn't afford to care for them due to sanctions.
So, I feel nothing but outrage that these people are still trying to blame us for even 1% of what one of their own mad men did to their children. They knew the truth then and they know the truth now and have deliberately denied it all along because of their agenda of proclaiming the US to be the great satan.

Well*******I do*******understand where you are coming from.******* </p>
However, I still have to disagree with you on a few things.******* For one, I don't think many of them really know the truth.******* I believe that most of them have been fed this propoganda for so long that they honestly believe it.******* Or*******they aren't sure, and they choose to believe what best fits thier life situation.******* And if they do honestly believe the propoganda they echo, isn't it better to respond with compassion, respect, patience, and simple truth.******* Isn't that the way Jesus teaches us to be?</p>
I think there are a probably just a few, just a small handful of pathetic souls, who do know the truth, yet still choose to create lies in order to recruit others to thier ways of violence.******* An example of one, may (or may not) be the individual who choose to insert the topic article of this post out of the blue, as in my opinion, a very clever and subtle way of pushing others towards violence against Americans,*******using the example of a "good muslim" who lived 100 years ago.</p>
But my apology is still sincere and directed to the ones who are sincere themselves.******* Could we have done anything better to avoid the tragedy of all those innocent children loosing thier lives?******* I don't know.******* Maybe we should have*******brought justice to Saddam earlier, or finished the war in 1991, or remobilized the marines when it became known that children were the victims of his atrocities.******* Any of these choices I'm sure would have been quite unpopular with both conservative muslims and left-wing America (ironic how that works, isn't it).******* Is it fair to make the winner of a war between two nations responsible for the treatment of the loosing nation's children?******* It's a tough question to answer.</p>
However you take this post, please know that I certainly mean no disrespect to you or anyone else in making an apology while you and others argue against the very thing that I*******apologize for.******* And I encourage you to continue countering every message of hate and propoganda put out by these misguided people with more messages of truth.</p>

Sorry gag order but Hussein was a home grown mad man, just like bin Laden, the taliban, the qaeda, and all those lunatic jihadists over there.*******
As far as I'm concerned we should have never stepped in to save anyone's butt in the Middle East except Israel.******* Who cares if one of your own heathens bombs the daylights out of Iran, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Egypt? I certainly don't.******* Likewise, I couldn't have cared less if the Soviets took over Afghanistan when we came to their aid either so I agree we shouldn't have come to anyone's aid there.
All it ever got us was stabbed in the back by the heathen ingrates we saved.
So, yep I agree, we should have saved all the money we've spent and weapons we've provided to save all your worthless countries from their own lunacy and handed it all over to Israel.

Since 1984, over two million Christians in the Sudan have been killed in genocidal assaults by the country's Fundamentalist regime. There have been wide reports that black Christians are literally slaves who are purchased like property, owned, and then sold. Yet, the United States, Europe, NATO, and CNN have been rather quiet. </p>
In Egypt, the ancient Coptic Church has been suffering for centuries. Christians are discriminated against, beaten, terrorized, and murdered while their Churches are desecrated and destroyed. When Fundamentalist's embarked on a terror campaign against western tourists a few years ago, these attacks were widely reported. The Copts were not mentioned. Armenian Christians have been fighting for their survival in Nagorno Karabakh against Azerbaijan since 1988. The Armenians were almost annihilated as a result of the Turkish Genocide, yet western companies are looking to placate Turkey by lobbying to prevent recognition by the United States of the Armenian genocide and are interested in Oil in areas like Azerbaijan which leads them to oppose the humanitarian interests of Armenia. </p>
The last decade has been a painful one for Eastern Orthodox Christians. The 1990's began happily enough with the collapse of Communism and the liberation of Orthodox Churches in Russia, Ukraine, Byelorussia, Georgia, Bulgaria, Romania, and Serbia. However, when Serbs reacted to the revival of fascism in Croatia and of Islamic Fundamentalism in Bosnia, and proceeded to defend themselves they were condemned by the entire world. </p>
