Is Shaykh Al-Ajami an Afghani?

I found this nasheed on IslamTube, of Shaykh Ahmad Ali Al Ajamee, singing a nasheed called 'Allahu Akbar'...but I couldn't make out if the the verses were in Arabic or Farsi or Pashtu...But Masha'Allah it put a smile on my face.

I actually thought it was Farsi, but I think its Dari (which is very similar to Farsi)

I think he's from saudi arabia. He also is a monshid besides being a qari. I've listened to some of his nasheeds.

Al-3ajmi means in his case that he is from the arabic tribe of al-3ajmaan.

he is from saudi arabia, did his hifz there.
he actually went to Pakistan for studies during the Jihad agaisnt the Soviets.

there he met a guy who had lost his entire family at one blow, that man used to sing this nasheed,
Shikh Ajmi was very touched and learned from him this nasheed

he narrated this himself in his interview with Majd tv
the language is Dari

one of the classic nasheeds from the 80s... excellent for sing along together. I never knew the meaning of the words, but knowing them now makes it better!
