Does anyone use Skype here? Is it any good? Also, does it make a difference if a user on one end has a dial up connection?

Skye is really good. I use it. Even on dialup it works fine.

Skype is good yes , google talk is really clear as well.

Skype is good yes , google talk is really clear as well.I'm using google talk at the moment, but there are connection problems. If I'm talking to someone from Pakistan then I'll have trouble connecting, and when it does connect it'll only last for a few second before it disconnects again.

I was told by a friend to try skype, I havn't had the chance to make any long distance pc calls yet though!

skype is not bad, you can even call a landline if you buy some skype-out credit. It's preferable that you have a broadband, otherwise it will be slow.

oh pakistan , they all use Yahoo here to talk to pakistan and India , also I remember last year UAE had some cables cut so everything was really slow and the only chat service you could use was Yahoo, all the rest couldn't cope with the slow connection.
