Everyone was talking about Maktabah (http://www.maktabah.net/) [Maktabah al-Ansar Islamic bookstore] (archived page (http://web.archive.org/web/20070524075743rn_1/maktabah.net/home.asp), more (http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.maktabah.net/)). What happened to it? It seems to have only just gone down this month?
Apparently it was THE place to get Islamic books, dvds, flags, etc. Even Yvonne Ridley praised it.
I know it was raided (BBC article (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/661744.stm)) because of the 'kidnap' thing in the news but the people who own it were freed (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/6340935.stm)!
When will it be back? Watch the video (http://www.bbc.co.uk/mediaselector/check/player/nol/newsid_6340000/newsid_6340900?redirect=6340979.stm&news=1&nbram=1&nbwm=1&bbram=1&bbwm=1) of a worker their speaking out!
Their are some threads on other sites (1 (http://talk.islamicnetwork.com/showthread.php?t=13652), 2 (http://talk.islamicnetwork.com/showthread.php?t=13652), 3 (http://forums.mpadc.com/showthread.php/wheres-maktabah-site-5281.html), 4 (http://forums.mpadc.com/showthread.php/wheres-maktabah-site-5281p2.html)) talking about it but what do you guys know?
In May 2007 (http://web.archive.org/web/20070524075743rn_1/maktabah.net/home.asp) they had a notice saying that " Due to unforeseen circumstances, we are unable to process any online or telephone orders at the present time.
You shall be notified in due course"
On these threads it says that it was hacked by Turkish Nationalists (http://talk.islamicnetwork.com/showthread.php?t=4858) by then might have been changed to http://www.tibyan.net/home.asp . It is also said that store was raided (http://forums.mpadc.com/showpost.php?p=44818&postcount=2), that it was a harddisk seerver crash and will be back up again soon (http://forums.mpadc.com/showpost.php?p=44821&postcount=4) (sounds like an insider?) and it has been said that it is only temporarily closed (http://talk.islamicnetwork.com/showthread.php?t=13652)?
In fact, htere is a news article about the store:

Maktabah: Temporarily Closed
Our favourite bookstore has been raided. The plot as complex, intricate and unbelievable as ever. Basically, a plot to kidnap, hold hostage and carry out a recorded beheading of a British Muslim soldier (Her Majesty's army of course) and then .. well there is no more. Thats it! I suppose wait a few dyas to get arrested. This isn't bleedin Iraq. I mean, why bother - let them go over and get a Galloway-esque "one hell of a beating" at the hands of our boys, who are more then capable of it.
Just seems timing is ripe to coincide with Cameron's manifesto of hate.
May Allah protect the Maktabah brothers who for years have been doing a job nobody else had the courage to take on - inciting the believers to jihad fee sabeelillah. Before you run to burn all your books and CDs, ask yourself one question: what did you take from those books, CDs and DVDs? Your actions in these times of fitan will give you your answer.

Sparkhill Muslims 'live in peace'
Squeezed between a pub and a beauty salon, which have also shut for the day, the Maktabah bookshop has hit the headlines before.
It was founded by Moazzam Begg, who was detained by the US at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba on suspicion of terrorism before being released. He was arrested there by British police under anti-terror laws in 2000.
Mr Begg no longer owns the shop and the new owners have denied any links to Osama Bin Laden or al-Qaeda.

Mr Bakr, who works in the Maktabah bookshop, targeted in the raids, told BBC News the UK was "a police state for Muslims".
Dr Mohammed Naseem, chairman of Birmingham's Central Mosque, said Muslims felt "persecuted unjustly" by the government for political ends.
He said some in the community resented the way the raids were carried out and opposed laws allowing terror suspects to be held for up to 28 days without charge.
