Asalamualaykum,
Whilst I appreciate the fact that this forum allows people to air their views no matter how unislamic they may be and does not censor(by deleting/editing posts in the most part) but instead engages in dialogue,I must say that I feel that this policy needs to be restricted.
I have seen some posts which serve no useful purpose, not only that they are promoting clear kuffr, yet these threads are allowed to continue unabated.
I would like to see threads like this deleted in order to safeguard the Eman of all forum members.
Please Ikwan if you agree with my point(and you better agree lol)make your feelings known in this thread so that our admin brother/s can take note and hopefully take acton.

You both dont think that these posts shouldn't be blasted on here ?
If some ignorant soul types in those books in google , at least there is a warning on here that they shouldn't be read .
What do others think ?

Come on guys! I would be more concerned about people posting links to Mushrik forums like yanabi, misbah or whatever it is called, than links to ikhwan al-safa. I would be more concerned about links to sunniforums or sunnipath than links to Ibn Sina's works. Because people are more likely to fall for Sufis, Ash'aris or Mushriks than some zanadiqa from medieval Baghdad!
Use some sense. We are living in the information age where censorship is suicide. We do not want to take that route because eventually the lines become blurred and you begin to censor your opponents just because you cannot refute their argument. Look at the state of Sunniforums. Look how crazy Abul-Layth has become. Look at IN, you only need to touch their raw-nerve to get a ban for days or months!
And for God's sake, is there anyone on this forum with such weak faith who was even slightly tempted to read a work on magic listed on that thread?
And it isn't that we do not have restriction in place. We do have restrictions. Someone every now and then advertises Sufi events, and we delete his posts, because there is no purpose in that thread, i.e. it doesn't result in any discussion. When a kafir here says something insulting about the Prophet, we only change the words and keep his point/question so that it can be addressed.
As for the 'trolls', well... if you believe someone is a troll, just don't feed him. If we were to take this route, we will eventually enter a territory where it would be too dark to see who is in and who is out.
At the moment, we stick to our very general guideline, and that is to allow people to speak by default whatever they want to say, bar anything that sounds offensive to Islam (which then can be reworded) or lands a person in jail.

salaam warakmatullah,
i know im a new comer as well and hate to come in and start dictating and running the show - though, i know for a fact im the least knowledgeable person on here....if not on the internet!
i agree with the sisters comments - though as much as i hate to see deviants or ignorance to take the front stage, its a secure feeling knowing that there are dedicated brothers and sisters refuting these fools. At the same time, it can also serve as a 'training ground' for us less knowledgable people who may log off with a lesson or two - for there already has been couple of times that I learned something from this forum and used it against someone with questionable belief. And I've also bookmarked several threads that refutes asharies or critique of certain past 'scholars' that many in my locale quote or blindly follow.
This all comes with the 'terrirotory' - so protect it!

There is hope for brothers like "Break";
a few years ago i used to know people who declared everybody outside the fold - now they are masha'Allah on the straight & narrow: youth and misguided zeal will fade away, Insha'Allah.

Akhi when i look back, before IA probably in the CG days, maybe even before that; my views were worse than "Break". Due probably to my own company and where i took knowledge. I was never with the Mojo's but closer to Abu Hamza. Those days Abu Hamza shared a platform with OBM and naturally co-operation began. Believe it or not i joined the family (Islam), after listening to Abdullah Faisal (May Allah guide him).
With regards to how & when the takfeer stopped - all i will say is that a brother who done what he preached, acted upon Tawheed and someone i admired had to administer a few slaps :) This amazing brother, after his return from Afghanistan, sat with Abdullah Faisal and simply tore him to bits. Looking back now not exactly his most challenging task.
P.S. You remember me from where? I only use this forum regularly (I cant remember my username from CG) and currently as you can probably tell: work is not so busy :).

Well, despite our differences, it is very uplifting to see all the brothers and sisters from different backgrounds coming together, after all... Things will get better... only if we're together... (oh my, that rhymes)

I agree with Abuz Zubair's post. Censorship makes us look weak. Censorship would be cool if we lived in a controlled environment like in the ancient times where you could possibly censor successfully. But now censorship is not possible, in this day and age. So we just look stupid when we censor stuff on this site, even though the same material we censored can be found just two clicks away. So it's just best to reply here in the open.

When someone mentioned there was a vid of AZ debating obm everyone was eager for it to be posted,I think people wanted to see what AZ looks like rather than actually hear the debate.
Hey Jaysh I hope you dont want the picture so you can visualise the shaykh and become one to get some barakah? lol
